Amonrax's Crusader Times Fighting the fight to keep EQ2 exploit free and enjoyable.

Todays story: The Aftermath Effect

Our tale begins here. Our villain: The Princess Our Location: The Barren Sky.

A renound contested MOB known for it's tantalizing treasures. A tempting target for all. Perhaps even tempting enough to cause some players to resort to using an EXPLOIT to engage the encounter.

The stage is set; 2 epic raid forces bent on killing this fearsome foe. Lets call them raid force A, and raid force B. The heroic raid force A succeeds in forming before raid force B. Brandishing their weapons in anticipation, they move in to engage the encounter. The MOB then begins a few lines of dialog before opening as attackable to a players force. What happens next? The encounter immediately locks and charges raid force B. Was this magic you ask? or was raid force B the first to engage? The answer is neither.

The MOB locked and engaged raid force B, allowing them to steal the encounter, reign in the kill, and proceed to sell its loot for vast amounts of coin.

Now to reveal the magicians secret and expose their magic trick.

This exploit is caused by having a Brawler class target the MOB while still in the non-KoS stage. The Brawler then proceeds to Feign Death(FD.) This results in what has been dubbed The Floppy Fighter Exploit.

What occurs next is as follows: The raid force (raid force B) contains the Monk/Bruiser that targets the MOB, FD's, and causes it to immediately lock to their force the instant it becomes attackable, regardless of whether or not they were the first to engage.

Now comes the question; is this truly an exploit? or did SOE allow for it to be stolen in this manner? And even more, is it only isolated to this MOB? If that's the case, you now know what you need to do in order to give those other raids a run for their Platinum. If not - SOE and EQ2 dev teams - please look into this. As well as those low enough to resort to using exploits for their own coin gain.

See you all next issue! Together let us keep the game EXPLOIT FREE.

If you think it's an exploit, you shouldn't post it here.
Furthermore, you may NOT:

Post exploits, cheats, hacks, or links to websites or domains that contain such material. If you wish to make the team aware of these issues, please send us a private message.

Naming specific guilds you're accusing of exploiting isn't allowed either. This sounds more like a combat mechanics flaw to me so you may want to write a less flame-throwing post in that forum. Why would anyone want to hurt the Princess anyway? Othesus - Dirge - Lucan DLere Vaspar - Fury - Lucan DLere
