Back in the golden days of EverQuest(1), there was a question on everyone's lips.. Has Anybody Here Seen My Corpse? Of course, the song by Eletric Funstuff was a great hit in Norrath before I even thought about parody in EQ. As I look back on my inspiration, it's easy to say that Weird Al or Spike Jones inspire the odd lyrics I come up with.. but the idea to do it to EverQuest based songs was definately inspired by this one song. So my hat's off to Electric Funstuff.. I don't know if you're still playing EverQuest, or moved on to other things.. but I pay tribute to the First EverQuest Song. Has Anybody Here Seen My Corpse? Electric Funstuff presents a story which is sad but true. The ranger left our party in a pinch, The fight had looked like it would be a cinch, But the mage ran out of mana, The cleric said manana, and I was dead before I'd moved an inch. See, I told ya it was a sad story. Well can you spare some rations, cuz I sure need a drink, I lost my stuff, I'm feeling, out of sorts, Those trains just keep chasin, No idea which way I'm facin', Has anybody here seen my corpse? I'm fuming cuz my servers down again, those women I've been chasing are all men, "My name's Galadriel!" I asked one to join my side, she just laughed until she cried and said, Get your skill at begging up to ten. (2) Well can you spare some rations, cuz I sure need a drink, I move so slow, I wish I had a horse, (4) It's night and I can't see, (3) danger in front of me, Has anybody here seen my corpse? Well everything cons red now, when I play, what would I like my tombstone to say? Thanks well it's been fun, five more minutes then I'm done, I've been sayin' that to myself since, yesterday. "I'll be right there sugar just as soon as I kill this skeleton, and this shadow wolf, and this fire beetle." Well can you spare some rations, cuz I sure need a drink, this game will be grounds for my divorce. The lag times can be chokin', the quests can all be broken, but still I keep coming back, of course And I will surely seek you, Next time you're on EQ, Cuz maybe oh just maybe, maybe oh just maybe, maybe you might have seen my corpse. *A few notes for the Original EQ impared... In the Original EverQuest... 1) You left a "Corpse" where you fell.. this corpse had ALL the equipment and money that you were carrying. You could not track it, and if you were in an area you werent familiar with, it was like finding a needle in a haystack. Corpses decayed after 1 week, as long as you kept logging in.. (if i remember correctly).. or after a month if you didnt log in that character.. so if you couldn't find your corpse after a week, you lost EVERYTHING. Didnt matter if you were a newbie, or had your Epic weapons.. bye bye stuff. 2) Begging was a skill where you could beg for coins from NPC's.. if you got good enough, you could have made some gold.. but the problem was, the more you beg, the greater the chance of being attacked. So begging wasn't exactly safe. 3) If you were any race other than Elves.. you couldnt see at night 4) Song was written before the Shadows of Luclin Expansion.. no Horses.

Ahhh a trip down memory lane for the old eq vets makes me wonder what I did with my old bloodforge hammer , my first magical weapon I ever received and at the time (prekunark) it was an excellent weapon that someone decided to just take pity on a newbie druid and give it for free. Oh and if I remembered right for a long time you could actually practise begging off of the mage pets with getting attacked .

Brings back memories of a simpler more complicated time. Thanks for the trip. EDIT: I should add that should anyone want to relive the memories of a more classic EQ, the Macintosh version only went up to Planes of Power. I know that's not the super early days of no soul-binders, east commons tunnel auctions, and paying for ports, but it is very much like the good old EQ we all know and love (bugs and all). The servers are still active, the community is super nice (eqmac.com - go to the forums), the game itself is a free download. There is a subscription, but it is also covered in the station pass. Development has stopped for EQ Mac, so there probably won't be bug fixes or any more content, but in a way that's the charm of it all.

Heh, I remember that song from a looong time ago. Certainly brings back memories. The song is great. There was another parody artist that did quite a few EQ1 parody songs, but I've long since forgotten who he was...

Sorry...... but now you did it..

She's part girl, she's part boy. She's got parts everyone can enjoy. She's got more, she's got less. She's got her manhood tucked in her dress. Is she a mister, or is she a miss? Does she stand up when she's taking a [Removed for Content]? She's my little girl, yea, she's my little guy. When I try to please I get poked in the eye. She wears lace and she wears flannel. She watches football and the Lifetime Channel. What's that bulge under her nightie? It must be hermaphrodite. Somethings are white, somethings are black. Some girls wear make-up, mine shaves her back. She is still beautiful, she is still fine. It's too bad her package is bigger than mine. She can't help her imperfections, she gets jock itch from her yeast infections. Who stole all my tightie whities? It must be hermaphrodite.

The guy you're thinking of with all the eq parady songs was Richie Truxillo who had the character name Richardo. His songs were classic and if you are interested you can still listen to them here. --> http://www.artistlaunch.com/artist....?artistid=11221
