View Full Version : ROK : Simple things that make the whole game better!
Hello all,I have played Eq2 since beta 2, and have dipped my toe into various other betas and mmos along the way but nothing has held me as much as Eq2... With Age of Conan getting closer I really wana see some basic things added to Eq2. (Age of Conan s the only mmo I can see myself being torn form eq2 for) <span style="font-size: 12px; font-family: Verdana">These are simple things I have wanted since day 1 of play:</span> 1) Arrow Quiver Models, why on earth don’t we have them... even WoW (or as I call it 'The Short Buss'<img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> has quivers and that game has graphics on par with "The Sims". It would be so easy to add a graphical model on the back of people wearing Quivers. 2) Bow strings, can we? Please? Even if it was just a line that doesn’t move... all bows should have bowstrings, not just epic bows (which disappear when your not using them. <span style="font-size: 12px; font-family: Verdana">3) Constant Weapons, as a ranger this is a huge issue... I can have either my BOW visible or my MELEE weapons, never both. Why can't all our weapons show up? Vanguard has it; even the Short Buss (wow) has it. If im wearing a bow and two daggers why cant I see it? Even if it was simply a choice of displaying one OR the other, it would be nice.... We have the option to show hood or not show hood, why couldn’t we have "show melee" or "show ranged"</span><span style="font-size: 12px; font-family: Verdana"><span style="font-size: 12px; font-family: Verdana"></span></span> <span style="font-size: 12px; font-family: Verdana"><span style="font-size: 12px; font-family: Verdana"><span style="font-size: 12px; font-family: Verdana">4) Boobies <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> </span></span></span> <span style="font-size: 12px; font-family: Verdana"><span style="font-size: 12px; font-family: Verdana"><span style="font-size: 12px; font-family: Verdana">Those 3 points are really simple things that could be added to the game by 1 team, I cant see you needing any more than a week to achieve any of those goals... Maybe Arrow Quiver model may conflict with some other models and require tweaking, but its just such a simple basic visual component of wearing a quiver to be able to see it... it seems dumb we have gone almost 3 years without it. </span></span></span> What are your thoughts on these 3 ideas?

I agree with 4 as well they don't need to bounce around like a Plastic Little Anime, but some movement would be nice and add to realism Iron Maiden [Removed for Content] when one is wearing a Gi is wrong, works for plate male only.
i will love to see a new ranged animation with quiver + string , something more "fantastic"? i just cant play my ranger >.< i dont like how ranger show bow in eq2 =/ , i like how ranger shots in Lineage 2 or Females elfs in WoW , or in DaoC .... in eq2 is realistic? maybe but i dont like it =(

<p>Suggestions 1-3, I could live without. Would anyone other than Rangers, really care?</p><p>But number 4...I think we could all live with that.</p><p>Maybe some bounce animations whilst running, maybe even an emote to bounce up and down.</p>

Since this thread is suggesting graphic things for a class, I might as well throw out one I'd like as a Mage player: I'd like animations to let a character carry pole weapons (staves, spears, ect) like a walking stick, rather than having stuck to their back.

They also need ZZ-Top beards, and slinky low cut in the chest and maybe high cute in the legs Robes.

<p>Only on Dwarves, lol!</p><p>They also need better looking underwear, level 70 and under my clothing is my newbie Isle of Refuge wear! In game card games, and dancewear for RPers (with hopefully better dances then "tripping over the light spaztastic"<img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p>

<p>I have a few things they should improve grapicly. ICE COMET.... in eq1 The name and the Graphic went togeather cuz it looked like a freeking HUGE comet/ball of ice. In eq2 Ice Comet is a snowbal and should be called snowbal because of the way it looks. And along with the that a fwe other spells could use some spiffing up all mages spells need to be much more flashy I mean they cant take hits or be in the frong line we should be able to stand back and look at some eye candy and be like ... yeah I did that. I wana hear tanks go [Removed for Content] was that when they get thease new effects. I'd also like to see a little bit diffenrt animations cuz for like everyhting cept for summoning a pet it looks the same. Would be nice to see a few differnt casting animations. And I like the idea about the useing your staff as a walking stick... ecept it looks stupid when your runing and using it as a walking stick i mean the only time i Walk is when i'm encumberd. </p><p> And Number 4... Boobies FTW</p>

I think ever class should get new casting animations.....like in EQ1...frogloks would do a backflip which was awesome... My Berserker looks really [Removed for Content] when he is casting proc spells. He does a curtsey which fyi is non very man like.

Well then Yes make the tank casting animations better. I think for tanks maybe when the cast spells maybe have it cast from the sword or through the sword (or what ever weapon they are useing) That could give things and intresting look instead of them doing a little curtsy. Taunt and Kick animations seem good. Id love to see more veriety in the casting animatoins cuz i think thers like 3 or 4 casting animatoins for all 6 Mage classes. And with ROK rasing the level cap lets hope along with the new spells they make them look biger or more interesting. Like maybe an Actual Ice Commet Graphic instead of a snowball. I wana see biger lightning strikes, biger fire and ice spells just biger and better with the spells graphics all togeather. EQ1 sufferd from most things looking too much the same and they did an updated on it where they Totaly redid the spells graphics and it was an awesome thing to see how much they changed and how much cooler they looked after they were redone.

Less slashing w/ piercing weapons. A bit is OK, tho =p & as others have said... /agree w/ suggestion 4, not to mention more styles of clothing (robes). I realise the whole skellie system is presumably in the works or what not, but hard to believe in the time that EQ2 has been out, the robe w/ hoodie style in different colours is all that's been accomplished there =p

Yeah at the very least they could have done less intricate versons of the level 40 Status formal wear for wizard robes etc.

<p>If we're talking animations...</p><ul><li>Monk's to have roundhouse kicks as well as spinning ones. And headbutt's.</li><li>Teach horses to swim. I love the rain, but rain is not always accompanied by thunder. Snow may be tricky as they'd have to re-graphic the zones where snow doesn't normally fall...</li><li>Seasonal changes to the trees and fauna</li><li>Armour dye!</li><li>More variation in non-armour clothing. The graphic is basically the same for every level with just the colour changing.</li><li>Open up Qeynos castle in case there's a Sarnak threat to goody-two-shoes land</li><li>Project M resurrected for ROK </li></ul>

With all the thing broken in this game you want them to put in bow string, quivers and want to be able to see your weapons? Yeah GU36 should just fix this. <img src="/smilies/2786c5c8e1a8be796fb2f726cca5a0fe.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />
<p>I agree with the list and want to add two things of my own:</p><p>5) Armor dyes</p><p>6) Guild halls</p>

It's a little rediculous when the horse disappears because of the ankle-deep puddle.

As for the difficulty underwater, all they have to do is make it so that you can't go underwater on the mount as no horse or other mount will let themselves be submerged by another.

I'd love to see some of the ideas mentioned above, Armor Dye - I hate looking the same as everyone else.. Guild Halls - ie player build buildings etc /Gore On Options would be awesome. always visible weapons more realistic female anatomy (#4) Jumping physics - never liked that I can control my jumping mid jump. Perhaps a power up system where you hold the spacebar and it powers up till you let go to allow for different jumping distances... Levitation would be awesome for mages, or as a buff. There could be some awesome animation options for how you levitate. A few more classes. Bring back beastmaster. I'd love to see a more combative pet class. Maybe a Battle mage (ok kinda like pally and shadowknight merged with wizzy or warlock.)

<div align="left">Beastlord. <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> and they would need to balance it first, maybe the neutral version of the Monk. Or make it our level 80 ability.</div>

<quote> Jumping physics - never liked that I can control my jumping mid jump. The game is already rated 12+ and there's a load of gore in films/TV at the same rating level. <ul><li>Last one - "Have you seeeeen a gnoll before?" Kill him! Kill him I say!</li></ul> (Apologies for the "quote" thing - can't get used to these boards...)
