any one tell me what the difference, or advantages of using these sheilds compared to each other?

i prefer the tower, only due to the fact that stat wise they tend to provide more protection, but not sure if they hinder attack speed to say a kite or buckler.

if anyone could break this down for me, it would be appreciated.

thank you

As a Shadowknight I use a Kite Shield. They have bonuses to STR and INT, where Tower Shields and Round Shields have bonuses to stats we dont care about.

Generally tower shields have the highest protection rating, which translates into your avoidance. Generally kiteshields look better (unless you have a cloak which hides it) No shield type slows you down in any way, but the better shield factor ones seem to focus more on Sta/Agi and don't have offensive or power pool stats like Str/Int. I can't really comment on how the stats vary dependent on shield type. Ahkz's comments may well reflet the legacy of the shields, where crusaders could not equip tower shields, so more kite ones were optimised for our class's stats. Nowadays I don't look at the type of the shield - just protection factor, proc, stats in that order. My current favourite procs a hate gain when I block (B'laz Defender or some such thing). When not grouping I swap in a nice looking kite shield with some decent stats - Kiteshild of Seeing? (its a tradeable one from Halls of Seeing or Lyceum) As crusaders we don't have any reason to want a round shield or buckler - if you don't need the protection of a kite or tower, then you are better off with a 2 hander or 1 hander & symbol. The reason you will see warriors with bucklers, is because of their overpowered DPS "Buckler Reversal" AA line.
