Been working on an rotation for my CA's while on raid. What order do you all pop your CA's during a raid to get the most DPS?

While the mobs still coming towards the tank, mortal reminder (with intoxication added to the mix). Auto attack, focus aim, confounding arrow, precise shot, amazing shot, devitalizing arrow, culling of the weak, triplevolly, longblade, veiled fire arrow rip, lunging joust, shocking thrust, auto attack, precise shot, snaring shot, shocking thrust, longblade, rangers blade.. Rinse repeat. Also order of stealthed CA's I like to use.. Veiled fire, rangers blade, selection, emberstrike.. I dont like to use surveil.

<p>I like to start with confounding arrow to help the MT with aggro, then hit mortal reminder with intox, longblade/rangers blade combo, then debuff with cover fire and vines/trick of the hunter. If its a named or other long fight I'll pop killing instinct and honed reflexes for autoattack buff and haste. Hopefully the brigand has called his dispatch about this time.</p><p>After Dispatch I'll start into my ranged CA rotation: focus aim, devitalizing arrow to debuff a bit more, triple, amazing shot, culling the weak, and sometimes rain of arrows. If it is a group mob I might even lead off with rain of arrows and follow down the line with others. If there is still time on the focus timer I'll longblade/veiled fire or selection, depending on if group or single mob. </p><p>I'll fill in the gap til focus is back up with snaring shot, confounding, and precise shot in between autoattacks; while also inflicting quick longbalde/ranger blade/mortal reminder combos. I'll also slip in a Survelliance/veiled fire combo if its up. I use surveil mainly for aggro control. Long fights you can often re-apply intoxication and poison it again. It may be costing me some dps, but I havent parsed it out yet and it gives me something to do while my timers reset.</p><p>I've found it is very useful to have ranged autoattack hotkeyed. I use "2" because my finger falls naturally onto it in my keyboard setup. That way I can just hit 2 after a melee combo and I'm immediately back in ranged autoattack. Another quick way back into ranged autoattack is to use point blank shot off the agility AA line. It inflicts a bit of damage and also puts you back into ranged mode.</p>

<p>Assassins (and I'm pretty sure rogues as well) have an attack that cast Blamed on target of attack. (That's the effect our Confouding Arrow CA places on the mob.) Blamed will buff the tank for 10 seconds. So if a raid has multiple predators and rogues it's worth it for them to work out an attack sequence where Blamed will always be on the tank.</p><p>Our raids always have a minimum of one Assassin and two Rangers. That Assassin is always in the MT group to feed hate to the MT. In speaking with him he also uses his attack right away at the beginning of a pull. So I've reworked my sequence a little so that Confounding Arrow is towards the end.</p><p><b><u>If the mob has no AE (or very weak AE that won't strain the healer): </u></b>Intoxication + Stealth before the pull. Once MT has positioned the mob and MA calls for assist, I cast Emberstrike then Mortal Reminder. (Hopefully one of them landed. Often they do.) Followed by Poison Combination. Then Cover Fire + Vines for debuff followed immeditely by Point Blank Shot. (This puts me into Ranged Autoattack.) Then Elude -> Hawk Dive. I havn't done much damage at this point but Elude should bring me to the bottom of the hate list. Focus Aim -> Devitalized Arrow -> Miracle Shot -> Culling the Weak -> Tripple Volley -> Precise Shot -> Confounding Arrow -> Surveilance -> Veiled Fire. Focus Aim has expired at this point; wait for another autoattack. Longblade -> Ranger's blade -> Snaring Shot and wait for a autoattack. Arrow Rip -> Shocking Thrust -> Mortal Reminder -> "2" for another autoattack. Reapply Cover Fire and Vines. From here just use Precise Shot and Snaring Shot when they recharge. (Snaring Shot has 10 sec recast timer. Not much damage but it's one more chance to proc all my poisons+effects)</p><p>If the mob is a named then I cast Honed Reflexes + Killing Instinct before Focus Aim.</p><p><b><u>If the mob has AE: </u></b>Intoxication + Stealth before the pull as before, unless it's a mob that the raid leader has explicitely called out that no one can ever be in AE range. Emberstrike -> Mortal Reminder -> Poison Combination -> Cover Fire -> Vines -> Long Blade -> Ranger's Blade. Start moving back. Elude -> Hawk Dive. Back up more out of AE range. Then Focus Aim and the whole attack sequence.</p>

I dont like to count roa in spell order talk, it fits in anywhere.. It doesnt break the order I gave - cept your using roa instead of precise shot. And again, as far as longblade goes - I like to use the order of Veiled fire, rangers blade, selection, emberstrike... Unless focus is ticking, its dumb to use rangers blade while thats ticking.

an other nice thing is to make macros for melee Cas combos or single styles an put /autoattack 2 behind the style.. so you automatically go from melee to range mode and throw an arrow at you target.

hi, can any lvl 80 RoK ranger help me with an updated order of the max dps CA on raids? I'm also not very well versed in the art of using poisons, I heard you can stack more than 1, can I also get some insight on the best ones to use and is there any restrictions on which type of poisons cant stack with certain ones? Thanks in advance.

You can maintain 3 poisons at one time, however, poisons won't stack with another poison whose maintained spell icon is the same color. So a caustic poison will not stack with a hemotoxin. A fettering poison will not stack with an ignorant bliss poison. However, a caustic, a gracelessness, and an ignorant bliss poison will all stack at once.Usually I use fetterings when solo and ignorant bliss poisons on raids. Caustics always, but mastercrafted caustics for raids. I'll usually use gracelessness poisons all the time, but a mastercrafted for raids.

I found that out like right away. and in almost every group i'm in, i get ask, "Hey you ranger boy, you got your poisons." And i'm like "Duh, who do you think I am, a tree hugger?" And then they're like, "Well no, but I was with this high lvl ranger who didnt know anything about poisons."</p><p>Just wondering, thats all.</p>

In all fairness on the poisons, I didn't find this out until like the 40's. Unless somebody tells you, how do you know? I wouldn't exactly say its intuitive.

hi,Ok to answer the few people that commented on my post, my main is a conjuror (been playing EQ2 on and off mostly solo/questing), and recently few real life buddies of mine are joining me on the server and one has acquired a mid 70's ranger account. They are all first time EQ2 players (all coming from WoW), btw. Although I can help with regular game mechanics, I cant help with class specific ones. Im just trying to do some research ahead to ease the learning curve for this guy. Since we have a casual raid guild that's willing to take most of us, I just want to make sure the ranger player will be able to do his part well.I have done research and read up on the outstanding issues, such as the arrow mechanics holding the class back in terms of T8 DPS, but I just came across this post from search that come closest to something that I cant answer myself, since I never played the ranger class in EQ2.I'm just going tell my friend to follow one of the previous poster's order and seek out the T8 equivalent CAs and go from there.
