<p>I am not a big fan of scouts. </p><p>So what non-scout classes are enjoyable for someone that is more casual, that thus prone to be without a group often?</p>

Warlock, especially level 70 with 100AAs.  We aren't exactly scout food, since unless we are 1shotted we can nearly always get away if pvp specced, and if the scout starts the fight newbish, we can easily pop a couple AAs and mop the floor with him.  Can't speak for any other class because i've always played my warlock.

Warlock is one of the only classes I have not really tried. I'm intrigued... <img src="/smilies/385970365b8ed7503b4294502a458efa.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> What makes them special for PvP though? From what I've read, all they really have are nukes. Do they have any cool, special ability that's cool in PvP?

<p>"fun" is a relative term for solo pvp.  Do you find dying to be a detriment to "fun"?</p>

I was on my fury and joined a group. We were fighting at the steppes griffons and I took one to chase a runner... On my way back my group was under attack from another group...suddenly I notice every persons health in the group quickly draining to zero...By the time I got there they were all dead...lol one guy was like you can't heal for [I cannot control my vocabulary]...and I was like...sorry I wasn't there... then I landed and they killed me and the group disbanded... a conjurer with his hydro pet is interesting to play. You get to dodge aoe's the water dude jumps in front of some of the dmg and he heals and wards you. Now theres a pet you want to have.

It really depends on what you define as "fun".  Assuming you mean "fun" as "having close one vs one (or small group) pvp battles that I can win more often than lose" then having fun, solo, falls definitely in the scout realm.  I agree, in a group environment, casters can be a lot of "fun", but in solo pvp, nothing is as fun as a scout class stalking your prey, waiting for the exact right opportune moment to strike, and then using evasive tactics to get away from the hoards of reinforcements called in after your attack.  If you enjoy playing the victim in this scenario, roll a caster, any caster.  If you like getting hit from behind but having a chance to beat off or heal off the initial attack, roll a tank or a healer (and with enough AA's, wizard).  Winning solo PVP battles these days are about having the ability to pick your fights and environment, and once initiated to control the flow of combat.  No one does this better than a scout, solo, hands down.

While I would love to have the wards and instant killing power of a Warlock, a 70/100 conj with good gear, skill, and the hydro pet will never lose to a healer. Insane mana regen tricks thru pet canni/animist's bond, steady DPS, and PvE soloing that is second to none. Besides, I eat most int casters for breakfast. <img src="/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p><p>Basically, take what Gromann said and substitute "conj" for "lock". If you want to have a better chance against scouts (conjurors are quite capable of killing anyone but brigs and swashies are their achilles' heel), go for a warlock. If you like standing up to those nasty wardens, roll a conj (I am talking about T7, btw). </p>

<p>  Wizards?! I love my wizards!! I have 2 on pvp servers, one 20 and one I'm lvling to 70 which is 41 atm . Both are the funnest and most challenging class in pvp that I've played IMO. But.. I like a challenge too =P. I've played scouts/healers/coercer/necro's.. I like the wiz the best so far.. Solo pvp.. the only ones I have problems with are healers.. wardens/fury types.. everything else isn't bad. But it is all in how u play the class.. root right .. stun, interupt, nuke, stun, interupt...etc..and most of your stuns/interupts are nukes as well so.. anyway, I love wizzy's =P</p>

<p>If dying doesn't bother you much, then i suggest you try out all the classes and see for yourself what you think is fun.  Don't leave off the Dirge and Troub just because they're "scouts".  They're nothing like predators and rogues.  Bards have both combat arts, and spells, so they're more dynamic and more of a finesse toon than a pred or rogue are.</p><p>Give everything, or almost everything, a try until lvl 10.  It's easy to get through the island quests, and it will get boring doing the same ones over and over, but at least now you have 3 unique starting areas to try out a new toon in.</p><p>try a zerker/guardian, try an sk/paladin, try a bruiser/monk.  Give warden/fury, defiler/mystic, and inquisitor/templar a try.  Wiz/warlocks are worth looking at, as are necro/conj, and illusionist/coercer.</p><p>At the VERY least, even if you have trouble making up your mind as to which you enjoy the most, you have at least had a look at how other classes work, and you have a good idea of what they're going to be able to do against you in pvp.  There's no substitute for playing a class to higher levels when it comes to knowing how to beat them, but even just having a 10-lvl inkling can help.</p><p>Good luck out there, and have fun.</p>
