View Full Version : /lfg on: why even bother?
<p>Okay this has to be my biggest pet peeve with EQ2: FINDING GROUPS.</p><p>It's hard, even on the highest population servers. </p><p>Typing /lfg on is completely worthless. I've never had anyone invite me because of that. It seem the only way to find a group is when people start saying "LFM" in the tier level chat. But seriously... /lfg on.. completely worthless. Does anyone ever even type /who lfg all? I used to do that all the time back in the old EQ1 days. I think i'm the only one who uses /lfg on in EQ2 now because who I type /who lfg all (in the hopes to find people to form a group with), i just find.... myself. No matter how populated a server.</p><p>Come now SoE! Give us an organized tool to find a group! That should have been TOP priority when you made the game... especially in a game as social as this. </p>

Its completely useless there since everyone is role or anon there. When I left for naggy, lfg were still being used on my pve server though. But I guess that has changed in the last year or so. <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> If they'd only get their new LFG system out some tme. <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />
there is a new LFG tool incoming, next GU , with a LFG and a LFM tabs....will be easy? i really dunno.... the question is why u cant get groups? no1 uses LFG tool , channels ? no1 is playing , ghost town server no1 is puging in your server....
Or, no one is PUGging in your tier level at the time(s) you are on.

On Unrest it seems very effective... and on the Bazaar its easier to send tells... and listen to the channels...

<p>Yea, what he said above. The new LFG tool is coming out this week or the next, I think. </p><p>And yes, the /LFG still works for me. I get tells and send tells to people all the time with the LFG flag up. Still looking forward to the new system.</p>

The current LFG system is being completely redone in a less than a week. Just sock it up for a few more and then everything should be fine.

<p>I have found the LFG tag to be very effective for getting groups on Bazaar Server. That may be because I am a healer, IDK...</p><p>Kat</p>

Always works for me. Are you being proactive? If you can't jump into a group are you trying to start a group or just standing around pouting?

i found out that atleast for me it heavily depends on what class you are.... i can do whatever i want and cant find a group on my conjuer or trouby... but as soon as i log in my defiler he gets spammed with group offers....

In it's current form, I don't use the LFG tag. I have on occasion but found the groups it gets rather frustrating. My necro I generally get tells if I'm not anon. I usually only switch that on when raiding. My coercer I never use LFG because it does me no good. I keep anon on cause I get too many tells asking for spells to be made. Healers I always keep anon unless im bored with nothing to do. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

A couple of months ago there was a post here with a Dev looking for ideas for a new LFG tool. Basically all he would need to do is cut and paste the one from EQ1...Hopefully this new one was worth waiting nearly 3 years for...

<p>What's more annoying to me are the ones who have the lfg tag up, so you send them a tell asking if they want to join and. . . . no response at all. Are they really lfg? Or simply afk?</p><p>That said, I find that it's a lot easier to put together a group than it is to be invited off an LFG tag. Also easy to watch channel spam for "lfm" calls. But if I'm making a group, you bet your booty the 1st thing I do is a /who all lfg xx yy (with xx and yy being the level ranges I want) so anyone who is using their lfg tag wins my lfg lottery.</p>
