Hey Guys,

Due to the unfortunate continued absence of Hendrix and Page from Norrath I was just wondering who you guys would recommend I choose as a deity. My buffs are masters but according to anyone's parse I have ever looked at I could really, really use a DPS boost, its probably best noting that i prefer to get up close rather than cast from range. I have no experience at all (my beloved level 45 bard so far being my first and only toon) so any help is appreciated.

Zalkawe

45 Troub 45 Tailor, BoH, Venekor

The level 45 noob strikes again! That was a daft omission, I'm good (and I might add, have a very strong back catalogue)

Z

I'd go Ro if you're interested in dps, though he is based around spells and mages. Caster type boosts help my dps more than melee ones, but that may not be true for you. Plus he's neutrel, so he works no matter where ya hang your hat.

If you're more interested in melee; go Mar if you're good or Zek (or whoever gives the little giant pet ) if you're evil.

Go with Ro or Marr - at least for the cloaks. I usually use the Marr cloak because it seems to benefit me more and switch to the Ro one on fights when I don't go melee. The additional benefit from Marr might be for raids only when you are behind a heavily debuffed mob. As for miracles and blessings, Quellious might be interesting since a lot of the stuff there is based on enhancing/dealing mental damage.

So how does a level 45 get hold of a Sol Ro or Marr cloak ?

One piece of advice I've been given was not to pick my God on the basis of cloak as i don't get it till I'm 65 (or sometime around there anyway). That said, I am a big believer in eventual gains and don't mind putting the hours in if the item really is that good, can someone post some stats?. It seems from what some people have written you can follow one God for a while and unlock their top items then switch, is that true? And is it Ro that gives you the INT boosting pet?

Cheers for all the advice so far,

Z

Blades of Honour, Venekor

I went Innoruuk. His blessings buff mental damage and the last miracle is pretty powerful. Not to mention the health based cloak does some nice damage (crits for roughly 450)

If you plan on raiding EoF T7, go Tunare at some point to get your guild a free Wolfsbane (wolfsbane is consumed in the Mayong fight to prevent raid-wiping-werewolf adds from spawning). For a 70 troub it takes about 1-2 hours to solo the whole thing (I know, OP is only 45).

As a good character, Ro is a good choice, irrespective of level, because there is a good fire nuke for both miracle and blessing. Cloak is +65 to spell damage, but be aware that this is normalized to 3 second cast so it adds just 30 and 15 damage to shrill and eli's.

If I was evil, I would go Innouruk for sure for the mental, as Nain pointed out.

I have fingers crossed that Bristlebane will be added in RoK and that he will have a good set of mental based bonuses/cloak as this is the most appropriate God for bards with respect to Lore.

Happy hunting,

Sol Ro for miracles & cloak during Precision

Marr for melee and ranged if you're good

Zek for melee and ranged if you're evil or exile to haven (don't lose masters, just citizenship)

I have quellious now but am considering a change. As a support class her miracles are really nice. One is 500pwr to targ. There's also a hate wiping miracle and some other very useful ones. But her pet gives WIS and her cloak has a threat reducer on it and neither are put to very good use by a troub. I've been debating Marr and Ro and think I may do Marr first and see how I like it and if that's still not right for me I will try Ro. My wizard has Ro and most of the miracles are fire based spell procs and such so that's the main thing holding me back from taking Ro.

That's exactly the sequence of deities that I went through. I wear Marr's Cloak (melee STR + dps proc), yet am a follower of Ro (INT pet).

There are two Ro spells worth using for Troubs btw.

blessing - forth or fifth tier, 100% dmg proc on all hostile spells for a while

miracle - incinerate - 25k+ nuke if the mob is < 50% health, can be increased with fire debuffs

Cheers for all the help guys, I think I'm going to kick off with Ro just for the DPS boost then maybe switch to Quell when I hit 70 for the group stuff.

Z

I also went with inny The power boosting proc on each hostile cast makes debuffing long fights sooo easy.

I went with Tunare mainly because it was different, but after really looking at the miracles and blessings, tunare is pretty good for a bard. Life's Restoration is a nice long dot for undead and for raiding, especially EoF raids, you fight a lot of undead (3279 instand and 1967 every 6 seconds) and True Shot increases ranged crit chance by 10% and summons some of the best T8 ammo in game. Tunare is something to look at.

I went with Brell cos the pet is cute.
