How random (or fixed) are the collection quest shiny spawns? In other words, do I have to continually run around an entire zone to get em all? Or can any one spawn at any location?

And, anyone now where to get a list of the rares in each collection? I'd sure hate to sell one by mistake!

Thanks All!

What you can get from a ? is definitely determined by the zone and/or the location in the zone itself.

In the CL and just outside the WC you can collect ants on occasion but most often you will find orc bones up to weathered or shards up to scuffed, whereas in the rest of the CL you will find random bones up to cracked, shards up to scuffed and occasionally a shrub leaf.

In the WC (a closed instance technically part of the CL) you can find various beetles (coming only from the WC), orc bones and shards from any ? in the zone.

If you then look at FG (another closed instance technically part of the CL) you can find Neriak or Oggok coins (coming only from FG), random bones and shards.

As far as a list of the rares, anything other than a bone or a shard in any instance tends to be more rare as a rule, with the exception of the newbie zones where feathers and shells are incredibly common near the entrances.

If you look at the FP side newbie zones, the rarest moths tend to be the striped variety, white and brown being the most rare IME. On the Q side it tends to be either purple or violet stiped or spotted butterflies that are rare (can't recall exactly, been a long time since I've had a Q-side character hunting butterflies).

Looking at a mid-level zone, the enchanted maple leaves in El are one of the rare finds and I believe it's the red or purple there that is rarest.

Essentially, I'd advised keeping any non-bone or shard item from any non-newbie zone until you investigate the broker extensively.

Now that said, yes some bones are rare but that doesn't invalidate my statement.

I'm curious as to where you get your info from since I've never had trouble getting a cracked froglok but a cracked kerra or cracked wood elf is always a pain for me.
