How many quests do we have in EQ2?

According to Allakazam we have 3480 quests in EQ2. I would like to know if this number is correct. The reason I ask is because I had a minor argument with a friend about the number of quests in WoW and EQ2. I was so sure we had the greatest number of quests, but it seems I was wrong. Because ccording to Allakazam WoW has 5862 quests. This number stunned me, because it was so large compared to our 3480. So does anyone know if these numbers are correct?

Allakhzam cannot possibly have listed all of the quests... If EQ2 does have more, (Not sure if it does or not...) then its because more people have submitted to the WoW one then to the EQ2 one.

Plus, quests are being changed, added, or thrown out completely. I remember back when there were TONS of run-a-round quests in Qeynos for newbies.... "Go give this to my girlfriend" "Go speak to my boss" "Deliver this since I'm too lazy". All sorts of quests that have been deleted. Even all the quests in the newbie yards have changed from a long time ago. They are more linear in terms of plot and story than the older "Kill this. Kill those. Kill that thing over there. Now take all those things you killed and give them to my wife" quests that didnt have as much story.

Wouldn't doubt there are probably 3k quests in game with 400 being here or there.  Only thing I wonder is if this included collection quests?

Right now I have 4217 quests listed in the questlist and 513 of those are marked as no longer in game, so that makes it around 3700 quests still in game. After next game update I expect there will be another 100 more or so.

Was always suprised how a game could be called everquest and have such few quests to do.  I think Vanguard had more than EQ2 now and its only 30% complete at best.

Come on aliens coming down and then another race stealing their tech. woopie. EQ lore is soooo in depth and involved and is really interesting the cheracters you read about the wars and how EQOA EQLIVE and EQ2 play into each other and how they split from each other.

I would like to know if this number is correct. </blockquote> Actually, that number just means that we have 3480 quests in our data base.  There are some that are no longer in game (Isle of Refuge Quests, for example), and we don't make any pretence of thinking we have them all.  Lots and lots and lots, certainly, but not all, lol.  We're constantly collecting and updating data (both from user submissions and our own playtime..  *ahem* I mean research).  I've personally got about 20 quests I need to put in, and I'm only one CM out of four at Allakhazam! Oh, our number does include collection quests.

Thank you all for your input, I appreciate it. </blockquote><p> There are quite a lot of "quests" in WoW that EQ2 would not consider a quest in itself.  For example in the starting area after you do your first quest, you will be told to go see your proffession trainer.... which is usually standing aprox 5 feet away.  They consider that a quest.  EQ2 would consider that a step in a quest</p>
