I have been on a mission for the past few months to aquire as much +sub gear as possible, and right now my Subjugation skill is at 444 with no buffs/procs. I am specced Wis and Sta.

My understanding is that the hard cap for Subjugation is 455. Is this true? Is there no practical benefit to surpassing 455 in Sub? Even at 444 I still can be resisted on mezzes and Charm and have Charm break and it kinda annoys me. Will more Subjugation really reduce this, or is it "working as intended". My plan had been to get my Sub to 455 and then start focusing more on resists as my guild works into the EoF raid content.

I do understand that for raiding Subjugation is not as important as Ordination or Disruption, but I still like to have gear that lets me be the lock down guy for group instances like Unrest, Nizara, Castle Mistmore.

So, how much Subjugation is too much? Anyone have any insight on this?

Thanks!

Vekks, Coercer of Know Remorse, LDL

Spells resistance work on three factors:

The level disparity between you and your target.

You amount of skill in the spell's requisite skill.

The resistability factor of the spell.

So not only will you need to increase your subjugation skill, but also get higher spell upgrades (master 1 or 2) and simply be as higher level than your target as possible.

Honestly.. much more than what the Wis line gives will probably not give too much noticeable difference. Around 420 should be fairly good for doing things like Unrest, Castle MM, etc. No need to give up other aspects of your character really... and you leave yourself for room from procs if you still have the MC rings and group buffs.

*Edit* Ack, spelling!

Mezzes never break unless something smacks it.. I have never seen any of my mezzes not last their entire duration. Resistabilty also is dependant on your INT... keep that in mind.. if your INT is LOW even hittin the sub cap wont help

Is that a recent change? Growing up, I always sacrificed INT as a coercer for other, more useful things, and never noticed an impact. I thought the only thing that the lower INT would do would be: 1) reduce my damage on nukes, and 2) reduce my power pool. Since I regen power so quickly, and don't nuke all that hard anyway, I never really bothered.

Int does not affect resistability. Only:

Your skill

The mob's resistance to that kind of spell

Level disparity

The resistability on the spell

Other stuff (specific buffs that reduce resists, AA points, items, etc.)

Affect if you get a resist or not.

I've noticed that EoF mobs have much higher resists than the mobs in the original game or other expansions, which would explain why you sometimes get resists and charm breaking even with 444 subjugation. Also, after the combat change in a recent LU skill adjustments no longer equal level increases, so a 5 subjugation increase no longer means that you will cast spells as if you are a level higher, which would be key to really reducing resist rates. But no doubt your mezzes and charms are resisted a lot less than if you didn't have the +94 subjugation. Just compare how often your nukes are getting resisted compared to your mezzes. If it's really important that you mezz a particular mob, try casting a debuff before mezzing.

Is there anyone around who has recently respecced AWAY from the wisdom line? I am currently WIS/AGI but aside from the +subj in the wis line i don't want anything. I'd like to move to AGI/STA but I'm afraid of how much my resists will go up on things like charm+mez. If anyone has recently respecced away from the +subj in wis line, what is your opinion on doing so?

Granted I have only had this setup for 2 weeks, so I haven't done much yet.
