As of yet we have no idea what's in store for anyone in the epic department, but I figured I'd get this in before it's too late. I respectfully request that tanks are not awarded 2 handed weapons as their epics. I have in mind the situation in EQ1 with Paladins/SKs and epic 1.5/2. We got 2 handers at a time when it was almost a necessity to use a 1 hander and shield to tank challenging content, and it never sat well with us. Shields are even more important in EQ2 so if we have to have one or the other it would be better to have an above average 1 handed weapon than a 2 hander. The best solution in my opinion would be to use my concept of 1.5 handed weapons. You can apply the same concept to dual wield weapons by making them cause extra damage when used without a weapon in the offhand. That would go a long way towards making people satisfied with their epic weapons.

that or take a page out of the peacock reward or the wurmslayer give classes that use multi weapons like that the option to convert them and say when you convert them just make the addornment fall off instead of wasting it

My solution is far better in every way and makes use of mechanics already in place.

although the 1.5 handed wep idea is great i would be horrified if my epic wasent a 2hander, paladin through and through,

problem is 2handers do not add a substantial amount of dps so i say we concider 3 diffrent things

1. add a substantial amount of damage on 2handers say a current damage rating of 100 should be 150-200ish

2. if not the above make 2handers able to attack threw spells and combat arts instead of staling out,

3. if not eather one of those i say make 2handers use for tankabilty(expecially for paladins sks after all they were the 2handers of eq1) give a innate armor boost like 15% (like defensive stance) insteadf of avoidance you would get from a sheild

as a buckler using zerker - i would be horrified if my epic weapon wasnt a 1hr, basically because I have no incentive to ever use a 2hr, due to 75% doubleattacks, an epic weapon would literally have to be 75% better than most 1h fabled in the game to ever have any use.

This may be shocking, but Sony could always just actually give two epic weapons where applicable. Inquisitors could get a 1handed version for ranged fights/nuking/healing, and a 2handed version for dpsing using CAs with fanaticism up, for instance. Brigand/Swashies could get a 1h and a dw version, for whichever strokes their fancy. Other classes could get the same. The main problem with "type 1.5" weapons is that they'd be unbalanced in the hands of those who are designed to have offhands empty (wisdom line for rogues, most int casters), and many of those classes are certainly eligible for two different types of epic weapons. Simply giving out 2 weapons where applicable solves both of these problems; you don't get unbalanced situations like the one I just mentioned, and you also avoid the problems that morphable weapons present, namely: 1. Their inability to be adorned, since when you "morph" it, for all intents and purposes an entirely new copy of the weapon is made. 2. Their inability to "morph" while damaged. Also, giving people a single choice of two weapons is exceedingly weak when it comes to epics.
