Hello all.

For the last several weeks, I have been looking into different classes to see which one is a good fit for me to lvl to 70. I have come down to two classes the fury and the conj. The truth of the matter is that I like the Fury better but am not sure if it is a good class to do what I want it to do. So if you could bear with me, I would like to tell you what I am looking for and the let me know your thoughts.

I am looking for a melee/mage character the is of GOOD alighnment. They can do a little of everything. Although I am not looking for a tank, I am looking for a character who if they run out of power can finish a fight with melee if forced to. I am also looking for a class that can solo well as I am a very casual player.

Please let me know if the fury is a good choice from the above. If not, please tell me what would be.

Thanks all!

Furies are not melee whatsoever lolz. I've even got among the best weapons and the STR line and my melee is total crap.

On the other hand, all 5 other priests have substantial melee improvements and can retain their spell casting abilities; you may want to consider looking into them. Templars get great melee ability through aa's and also phenominal spell casting damage through aa's as well (enough aa's are obtainable through easy quests by level 30). Defilers do as well. Mystics can become melee kings, while also having the best debuffs, amazing buffs, and the best specialty heals in the game, but their spell casting damage is pretty weak. Wardens can get adequate melee damage and keep their spells for damage (Warden damage spells have the highest dps ratios of any priest) or you could use their combat arts instead of spells.

Conjurors are pretty fun and powerful for the casual player, if you learn to play it well. By level 55 you have a ton of solo options available to you (can even solo yellow named) and have means of never running out of power, so you'll never be in that position in the first place.

Right now I think Templar is the "little bit of everything" class. They inherently have phenominal defensive buffs and plate armor, so they can take a hit and are always wanted in groups. Choose achievements for damage, and you gain over a 100% increase in dps without sacrificing any healing or buffing power. Oh and did I mention they heal too?

Bard is the closest thing we have to a mage/melee class. You may wanna try out either of them, as they both deliver similar damage and benefits to groups (dirges are a bit better buffwise for non-raiders). The thing with bards is you either love playing one or you hate it, it doesn't fit everyone.

I'm not saying Fury is a bad class or anything, but Fury is more of a half warden/half wizard class, there's really no melee in there.

Also, Fury's are Evil. If you want a good, look to a Warden, but the above poster has a ton of good info We really dont melee much (unless out of power, then Animal Form FTW) Kishra LVL 70 Fury

Druids are neutral in the sense that they can start in both Qeynos/Kelethin and in Freeport/Neriak.

I have a 50 Fury and have had no real issues with melee. If/when I run out of power I use the Animal Form Achievement.

Upon activation it stifles you(but you're out of power anyway), increases all your melee stats and for every hit you score you get power back. I try to save enough power for my best HoT, cast the HoT then activate Animal Form.

I've been taking down ^^^ mobs with little difficulty with this Achievement with good(not great) gear. I started a conjuror and got him to 42 and I love that class as well(Sony owes us a Beastlord class dang it) but the Fury gets all my attention now.

Furys can be melee speced... but you are looking at no melee crits and a substancial reworking of all your gear. As long as you have maxed double attacks and maxed heal procs; with the Animal form path you can actually be pretty leathal in melee. NOTE: this is more of a soloing path tho.
