I must say i am SOOOO @#$%#$%@#$% Happy that we've come nearly full circle since I used to be a lurker here. Sorry to steal the thunder again Ekuthh wonderful post as always. But...
At this point so far we have:

Mysidia's tale tied to the rending, kinslayers and sisters.

Ekuthh's is tied to Mysidia, Sisters, Rise of the Dark handed

Sisters is tied in to Mysida's tale, Kinslayers, the rending and Rise of the dark Handed

The rending tied to Mysida's tale, Rise of the dark handed (you'll learn the connection next posting i make i promise, buti doubpt the BEAUTYs will allow me to go much longer without writting Rose's retribution, so might be nother week or two) and sisters. Then through the connection of the rise of the dark handed is also associated with the kinslayers.

I think at this point we really do need to give our selves a great big pat on the back. No longer are we a forum of individual stories (no matter how great) but we have an interconnected story that IS this forum. Though our stories take places at different times and places with our own slew of chatacters. We are a singular universe. I must that that is truely grand. What I'd like also to do at this point is to extend and invation to the other writters on the forums here that i failed to mention (Sorry between work, writting, plaing occasionally and RL I don't have time to keep up with everyone's tale), to join into this circle. We all write about the same place so why don't we all write about the SAME place.

<Legal disclaimer: Check with the other writters first before involving ny of their characters/scenareos in your own storyline please>

As long as you keep the basic character of my characters (non-npc's) intact, feel free to use my critters. As for the npc's, I hope they won't go too far astray, but since I have found them literally wandering the streets of Freeport, most must have some life before/after their time in the Militia. I admit that as I writer, I really get a kick out of finding a way to include other author's visions of Norrath in my stories, and my surprise/delight at seeing my characters show up in the world. The only other series of stories I can think of, where different authors have blended their characters/world together, is Thieves' World.

Which is, and has been, one of my favorite all time anthologies. Some of the work there is simply brilliant.

Sanctuary and Freeport could be the same city.

all i gotta say is yes, you guys have done your work so well that it can be intimidating at other times to some other authors lol.

but yes it defenitely adds a flair when they all tie in together. i love book sets that do that.

1) I think we are all fan-boys/girls of each others work, which makes it easier to see elements of the other's stories that you just adore. 2) I know I could never imitate the other author's styles, I can build on their details in my own style. Ekuthh's description of the crematorium in the 'loony ward' reminded me of the great European cathedrals... not something I could imitate, even if I tried... but I can use physics to follow the smoke, and find something for the troopers to gripe/gossip about. 3) There is some consistant effort to use the 'forum lore.' It's not always using a another author's main for a cameo, sometimes it is the more subtle back-story or even what would be just a random detail. Troopers who haven't seen each other for a while will gripe about life/duty station/bosses. Using the smoke/ash meant I didn't have to invent a issue for Blade to gripe about, but it also tied the world together a bit more. 4) We cheat. Only about 1/2 of the cameos are surprises. Sometimes there are the string of PMs/e-mails to get the feel of the story just right for both authors. Personally, I really try not to be intimidating (other then when stray Teir'Dal start hanging around my lil sis...note to self: background check on sulky Tier'Dal ). I still quite stunned and amazed my story has a following... other then D&D games my story-telling/writing has been non existance for 20 yrs (& back then I wrote pretty horrible teen-angst love-gone-bad free verse.) It has been pretty nerve racking at times, when you post then have to fight not to check for replies every 20 minutes for the next three days straight, or when you take the plot in a different direction & you stop seeing posts from certain readers. The worst is when you just sit there trying to figure out 'how am I going to make this work?" That said, its does take a leap of faith to throw your story out there & hope people get it. Especially since I think most of the more active threads are pretty autobiographical... 'If they don't like Zazha, does that me they don't like me?' That said, I'm glad I started the story. It's helped me through some rough personal times and I have made new friends on the forum. I would encourage anyone who is interested to try a story. Maybe folks will love it, maybe they won't quite get it... but most folks on this board are kind and encouraging, so this is one of the safest places you can go to make an attempt at writing (like the swimming pool with the guard on duty thing).

Hey! The Lion King is one of my favorite movies. (You should see it on Broadway. OMG... it was SUCH an explosion of emotion. A true delicious delight for the soul. I recommend everyone see it at least once.)

As for my characters, anyone is more than welcome to use them. If you need help on the particulars of their mannerisms, you can always PM me. I rather enjoy when people tie in stories together. You become more involved. It's almost like seeing yourself on the big screen. Plus, I've always enjoyed seeing my characters through someone elses eyes. It gives you continued insight on how to develop your character(s).

And don't feel intimidated about writing a story here. No one was born a great writer. It's something that you have to practice at, to get better.
