Specifically, Maltus Everling has a Fabled item in his loot table, anyone know the chance of it dropping?

Do you divide it by the number of items he might drop?

It's called the Oakmyst Scimitar -- anyone have it (who can post a pic)?

Rates of fabled drops are different for different mobs, and on top of that they get changed sometimes. Sadly the only way to find out the rate is to kill Everling a few hundred times and see how often he drops the item.

Regardless good luck. =)

Depends on the name, some names are required to drop ornate or better, where others are anything.

So a Ornate or better name has a stronger chance of dropping a fabled item

Everling almost never drops anything worthwhile. I must of killed him 20 times between my various alts and I never saw anything fabled drop. There are lots of named out there that drop fabled stuff. Nerious Pirate Captain drops a fabled every 1 in 50 in seems. Mudslinger in RE drops fabled and so does the Gorehorn Forsaken.

If I remember correctly about the loot drop rate change long time ago during DOF time. Basically, Bigger your group is, higher the drop rate for master would be.. Soloists would have hard time to get master drop vs a full group against same mob getting master drop easier.. I don't know if that loot drop rate based on number of players in a group still stands today..

This has been debated many times (but i have to admit it's been a year or more since the last time I saw it), and the last number I ever saw was under 1% and that was just some guy throwing numbers out based on kills/attempts. The numbers change on the fly based on live updates in my opinion, as seen from my own personal game play in eof specifically in the last few months. First few weeks of EOF, everything even related to a name was legendary/fabled, now I'm seeing all wood everywhere in every zone, every day of the week, solo or grouped. And in MMIS/Freethinkers, we're no longer seeing legendary chests and in some instances no masters but adept drops along with name chests. While this isn't the place for nerf talk, I'm attempting to say it's pretty random and there's no set % for a drop. It changes but you'll never get a dev to comment on it as it's one of the few mechanics of the game we're not really supposed to know about, imo (again).

No one knows exactly how loot drops work, but we all have our own theories. I certainly have my own theories I think are pretty spot-on based on my own personal observations and a couple of dev posts made months ago, but I won't go into all that.

Anyone saying anything about loots and droprates as if it's fact and not just their own opinion is blowing smoke out their [Removed for Content] cuz they really don't know for fact unless they are a dev/married to a dev/etc.
