I am still getting tons of tells about "plat selling" websites.  Isn't there something that can be done to prevent or cut down on mass spam in game?  Either they are targetting me specifically, which is pretty ludicrous, or they are able to send this spam to everyone, which shouldn't be possible with spam control.

<p>Perhaps they could implement some sort of overflow mechnism that would prevent a person from being able to send tells directly to more than X accounts in a given time period, or at least raise a red flag.</p><p>Based on the types of tells I've gotten (as well as mistakes, IE the message you get is "V" as in CTRL V), I believe these are scripts being pasted into the chat box and fired off rapid style.</p><p>Perhaps if the number of accounts you communicate with exceeds an arbitrary amount in a given time period it would raise a flag.  It would obviously need to be higher than what would be usual and customary (IE if you /auction looting rights to fabled gear, you could end up sending tells to multiple accounts in a short period of time)...however, I think the ratio of accounts per minute would still be much much lower than in the case of a spammer who is trying to get as much spam out as possible before their account is caught.</p>

<p>The spam tell have got much worse on Butcherblock server /report doesn't seem to do anything niether does /petition.  There has been a couple times in the last few days that few days I have gotten multiple spam tells within a few minutes from different ones. I have even went and found the spammer on newby ilse still sending them out, if I have enough time to find them why can't SOE? Oh ya and has anyone gotten the game email about them selling fabled raid gear between the 1st and 5th of the month? </p>

<p>Here's a solution I came up with.</p><p>The other day, I was trying to report multiple plat sellers, but I was only allowed 1 /report every 5 minutes. So it dawns on me... why not do the same with /tells? Allow 1 tell every 5 minutes. Now, this doesn't apply to /replies. So if you want to chat with your friend, it only takes 1 tell, then you can reply all night.</p><p>Yes, I realize that these plat sellers have multiple accounts, but how long does it take for you to camp and log back in? A few minutes? </p><p>I know one night I was grouped with my wife and daughter, and we all got a tell from the same person at the same time. With my plan, only one of us would have gotten a tell.</p>

Again, SOE couldnt give a s**t if you get plat spam. What do they care... The spammers buy an account, the people feeding the plat spammers are paying an account.... Why should SoE do anything? I get the "Oh yes, we take plat spam very serious" - To Grimwell, like **** you do.  If you took it seriously, we wouldnt have to deal with it.  Ill put my "money where my mouth is" - give me the tools, the training and Ill do the job.  Ill be the bane of the plat spammer and those the feed them.  If you cant/wont employ people that can do the job, then get rid of them and get someone that can and WILL do the job. Its more than obvious that SoE couldnt give a monkeys about the legitimate game player Going Anonymous makes NO difference, you just got lucky.  You still appear on the eq2players website, you still appear with a /who all
