OK, I do not understand something...

I have a Cloak of the Burining Prince (which says increases spell damage by 65)

Sunstrike - 782-1410 when equipped, 739-1367 when unequipped

Rending Icicles - 117-207 when equipped, 106-196 when unequipped

What is that? Where is my +65 spell damage???

Normalized based on a 3-second cast, before haste/cast time reductions are factored. Void where prohibited.

This is because BoE type effects (such as the sol ro cloak) are normalized to 2.5 sec casting + 0.5s recovery (base casting times of your spells). Therefore if you have a direct damage spell with a base casting time of 2.5s, you will see the full 65 added. For dots, it is split across all the ticks of the spell. For AoEs, it is divided by the maximum number of targets it can hit (even if those targets dont exist) - this is why many aoe classes prefer straight damage procs over BoE type effects.

So how much xtra dps would you gain off of the Sol Ro cloak? Or any BoE type effects?
