Please spare me with the flames, it's just a thought...

Since Invis and Stealth is pointless, as any decent scout will always have see invis/stealth totems active.... What about adding a Trinkering item that allows any class to track for a duration or one time. Give it like 10 charges or so.

I'm not suggesting taking away, but rather giving. I know Tracking is a class defining skill, but in no way can anyone argue this will over power other classes..... well, maybe brawlers.

hmmm.. bad Idea, maybe just make the item "mage only"

Exur - 70 Coercer

Venekor

Sarcasm aside, I would be willing to entertain the idea of such a tinkered item with the requirement

Tinker skill: 250 (or what ever the max is)

That means you would have to be a master tinker yourself to even use it, which most people are not willing to do.

I doubt that all the blueprints have been found.

This is an easy fix...Remove the ability to track any PC. Let track only work for NPC's / mobs. This will solve the track issue, classes being able to pick their fights, etc. Also remove titals and we would have a great pvp game.

I've been thinking this one through, and i think i've come up with an awesome idea to balance all classes, EVEN WHEN IT COMES TO TRACKING!

Ready? You're going to love this..

..........wait for it.. it's worth it..

/invite

I'd like it if they would remove player tracking all together, but also remove all "see-stealth" spells and abilities. Then, stealth would actually be cool and useful, and tracking wouldn't be so unfair to non-scouts. I wish stealth was real, similar to it is in DAOC, UO, and WoW. Stealth should not be near as easy to detect as it is in this game. I think that would balance it out, and also make more sense.

I think all the suggestions here might cause a lot of other issues. 1. If the suggested tracking device is a "tinkerer only"- item, all the transmuters will whine because that would be yet another major advantage to adventuring tinkerers. Transmuters get none, except the ability to transmute some no-trade items here and there. 2. If it was for mages only, priests and fighters will be upset because that would be unfair to them. Scouts will probably be upset if anyone else gets it because it is a class defining ability. 3. Remove the ability to track alltogether, and a lot of people will complain that it is then too difficult to find people to fight. After all, a lot of people prefer to hunt in groups with a tracking scout. Etc, etc.....
