Gitana's suggestion should work, but if not, then the following information from the Top Issues List and Troubleshooting Guide should help: Description: When attempting to run one of the EverQuest II installation applications, an error may be displayed stating that the setup application has failed with an error code -6001. Usually, this is not an issue with the installation media, but it is an issue with the InstallShield application. Work-Around Steps: This InstallShield application error indicates a corrupt verison of InstallShield is installed on your computer. To correct this issue, simply delete the following folder from your computer and attempt to run the installer again:

C:Program FilesCommon FilesInstallShieldProfessionalRunTime701

If this fails to correct the problem, we recommend you RENAME (not delete) the entire C:Program FilesCommon FilesInstallShield folder and try again. You may rename the folder to anything you like, but we recommend something similar to 'InstallShield-old'. Development Status: Issue investigated and work-around steps provided. Talk-back: None at this time.

TSR-JasonC, thank you for your help! I ended up having to rename the folder entirely to get it to work, but it is working! I know the media wasn't the problem, as I just installed it on my wife's new laptop without a hitch.
