I have seen several postings about this topic but I just wanted to add a perspective... Role playing. It adds so much to the atmosphere and feel when you can have a peep that looks the way that you want him to. a couple of example Warden with a tribal look & tats when they have their chest armour hidden a Zeker with the chest, shoulders, gloves and arms hidden and wielding the claymore Spartan like fighters with hidden shoulders, wielding spears and shields.. Druids with bare feet It is a similar situation to miss matched armour. The game is way cooler when you can have your favorite peep look the way you want them to. I know you can just not wear half of your gear (and some of my mates do) but dieing all the time offsets the extra fun... Being able to hide some armour pieces to get a specific look would make the game that much more fun to play.

It's definately an interesting Role-play perspective, and from a lot of angles, I would agree that it would make a lot of sense for a ranger to shed some of the chainmail he wears to blend in with the natural world around him.

There is however a problem with players that use the system and do things like have a completely naked group or raid running around. Isn't that just a little excessive?

Is there a medium that maybe can be reached? Limit the number of hidden pieces for instance?

Wouldn't it be proper to allow CERTAIN classes to hide CERTAIN pieces?

I'd say allow people to /hide any armor slot except chest and legs. I think there has to be some indication of what type of armor is being worn, and the chest and legs should provide that, while still letting players customise their look.
