My friend and I are duoing up together, but when he isnt on, Id like to have a class that I can solo with rather well. Ive always played casters/healers, so wanted to try something a little different, have heard Sk is rather good at solo'ing so here I am. My question is this - Being Im new to the game, I obviously have no money to twink out a character, will it be hard to lvl a SK without top of the line gear? In most games tank classes are extremely gear dependent, this is why I'm asking. Will I be able to obtain rather decent gear by quests/dungeons? If the answer is yes, they are very gear dependent and I should try something else since I'm new, any suggestions? Ive always been a Healer and or Caster ( playing a conjurer with my friend atm ). Just trying to mix up my play style a little.

I levelled mine up in handcrafted gear/apprentice4/adept1's 'til lvl 40 or so, then started buying mastercrafted. SK can solo VERY well, actually can solo mobs better than most of my other characters I have. Do be warned though, the SK isnt a "point-and-shoot" class like some are, you actually need to learn how to handle the skills/spells we are given. If you arent soloing yellow ^ solo mobs by the time you are in your late 20's rethink your strategies.

Good gear is always important if you want to be MT in a group .. if you just solo you can select the mobs you can take with the gear you have.

Important .. take Blessing as Master 2 at 14 .. that will help alot
