Alternate armor sets - I know, it would be alot of work... a LOT of work... but just something I wanted to muse over and hear some opinions on, not on the question of practicality, but on concept. Each visible armor type uses a particular model, often retextured. Vanguard armor pieces look the same, wether it's blue cobalt, rusty tin, or glistening Awakened Scalelord. Supposes each base armor model had an alternate form with a more oriental theme? My character isn't supposed to look like a knight in shining armor, he's supposed to look like a Japanese shogun. The simpler way would be to just have a "SOGA armor" mode you can turn on or off, and that would perhaps be the wiser way... but just suppose you could select "western" or "easter" style on each visible piece, save bracers and boots, on the item itself. Have the default iron chest plate, but then turn the leggings into a solid black hakama style. The changes could be subtle and retain a lot of characteristics for continuity. Example - Berserker hat. Can everyone say "Viking"? But with just a subtle change to the horns and eye covers, you could have a lovely samurai hat. Allow me to illustrate... <img src="http://i200.photobucket.com/albums/aa254/Krothu/Gannor2.jpg" border="0"> My big question is, how taxing would this be on the players in a zone at any given time? Do they have to load/cache both forms for every visible items equipped around them, or would it be able to swap on request? Making such a change would take many long hours, but how do you think this would work in-play?
