Hey all, My second account got banned today for no reason. I know many of you will say "yeah right" but its true. In fact right now, at least 5 people are in game on their second accounts with the same problem. I called the CSR who told me devs logged warping and other issues with my character. If I used any programs like that, hell I wouldn't die all the time. The only program I've ever had on my pc was EQ2maps. That is not an illegal program. If anyone else has been effected by this error post on this thread. Maybe Sony will revisit the issue and see that they made a mistake. Seriously, I've been playing Sony games since EQ1 release and have stuck with their products in good times and bad. If this is how they are going to treat the customers, maybe I should play another game. I've booked a hotel for FanFaire and airfare for 2, I can't believe they are doing this. If they are going to ban someone, hit the guys on Nagafen that use all the hacks - not legit players in their 50s trying to level up. The CSR told me to petition which I did, but he said he wouldn't share any evidence with me and that they are always right. Guy had an attitude with me which is a shame because I've always defended Sony and given them the benefit of the doubt. Someone needs to look into this and fix it - now. Lazaretto Nagafen

<p>While you and Sony sort things out, you mant want to apply the following to your computer if you happen to have a dual core CPU. This will eliminate the speed warp issue that GM's are mistaking you as trying to exploit the game as follows:</p><p>5. Dual-core crashing/stuttering/model corruptions Description: While playing the game, player and non-player character models may be missing appendages (feet, arms, head, hair, etc.), <span style="color: #ff6633">"glide" around unnaturally while running, run unnaturally fast while not under the influence of beneficial movement speed effect,</span> graphics display may "stutter" badly or have extremely low framerate, or the computer may crash/freeze while zoning. This issue is usually caused by an unpatched version of Windows XP (32-bit) while operating a Dual-/Multi-Core processor setup. This is not the same issue that Pentium-4 processors (or similar) with <a href="http://www.intel.com/technology/hyperthread/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Hyperthreading</a> technology enabled may experience. Work-Around Steps: If using Windows XP (32-bit) and a true Dual- or Multi- core processor, please follow the steps listed in this <a href="http://support.microsoft.com/?id=896256" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Microsoft knowledgebase article</a> which details the issue and steps required to resolve the issue. A very brief overview of that knowledgebase article's resolution steps: 1) install a hotfix program which is obtained from Microsoft's technical support contact system. 2) input a registry entry into the registry editor. 3) install any additional processor patches from the manufacturer of the processor(s). For AMD processors, please also install the appropriate <a href="http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/TechnicalResources/0,,30_182_871_13118,00.html" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">processor driver</a> in order to reduce the effects of the issues listed here. Development Status: Working on resolution. Talk-back: Additional discussion on this issue may be found in the <a href="http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/posts/list.m?topic_id=33475" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">official thread</a> or this <a href="http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/posts/list.m?topic_id=32937" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">player-made thread</a>. </p>

I have a Core 2 Duo E6700 but many people who are getting banned do no have dual core processors. I'll wait patiently but this is ridiculous. I hope Sony doesn't make me go play some other games. I would prefer a warning and or more direct communication. Logging in to you are banned and then having the CSR cop an attitude really is unfortunate. Banning without reason is even more unfortunate. I'll give them a shot to make it right, but at this point I'm pretty aggravated.

There was like 25 people that got banned from level 45-70 after a courts (T6) raid from what I hear. What in the world can you do in courts to get banned.. And since when to GM's follow people into T6 instance?

<p>Well something is wrong here, 2 out of our 3 accounts have been banned for no reason. Neither of us have a Dual core cpu and we didnt attend any Courts raid last night <img src="/smilies/2786c5c8e1a8be796fb2f726cca5a0fe.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p><p>All 3 accounts have the same CC details/email address, however our sons account missed the ban (yea he's loving it).</p><p>Maybe SoE are randomly banning people to reduce the load on naggy server?</p>

I was also one to get banned. I started a thread on eq2flames directed here: <a href="http://www.eq2flames.com/showthread.php?p=131252#post131252" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://www.eq2flames.com/showthread...1252#post131252</a> please try and get these falsely accused people un banned! It sucks to lose friends on a game to a gm hitting people with the ban stick for no legitimate reason.

jibberboy, do you have any affiliation to Iluminati or Grey Emenince? Most the people from those 2 guilds were the ones banned.

We didn't raid last night and those of us who got banned where all doing different stuff ingame. Myself and my Partner did a Blight/CoV run before having a early night. As for the other Monged who got banned, no idea what they were upto as we logged logged out quite early last night.</p>

Before someone posts a link to the what to do if you have an account problem information, I've already called the CSR and logged a petition in game with this account for a review of my other account that got banned. Something went awry with the ban process and many innocent people who have invested lots of $ and time with Sony have been effected. The purpose of this thread is to get Sony to take a serious look at our petitions and really get to the bottom of what happenned. I hope they give us a fair shot as I really have loved playing their products and am still in complete shock over this result to date. Sony, get us active again and make things right. You have a great opportunity to prove to the naysayers that your customer support is solid and you have the best interest of innocent players at heart. Rise to the top, and make us whole. Lazaretto

This is truly a shame. I dont know any of the players this has effected, but I can not think of third party program that would cause this. It could possiably be a third party UI or something? Possiably ACT? EQ2 maps? I really do not know. But I will say this, this seems to be a terriable mistake, and almost seems as though someone was out to get you guys. I have never, ever, ever herd of a whole raid being ban before. Keep calling CS and being polite with them. Email them, find out what the third party program is they are claiming to be in question, and if they will not awnser ask for a supervisor or someone in charge untill you get awnsers. This is wrong, I just really have that feeling inside, and you guys should all not leave the CS team alone untill you get awnsers.

<p>Sorry to hear that you are being blamed for a FAILING ON SOE's side of things. A shame that the GM staff feels it is THEIR RIGHT to simply ban people on the basis of SPECULATION AND ASSumption. The multi-core issue has been a problem since day one and SOE has known about it just as long. Yet here we have a perfect example of the GM staff waving their... ban-stick around and slapping you all in the face with it, leaving mushroom prints on your cheeks and foreheads. That is <i>awsome </i>customer service. awsome.</p><p>Hopefully you will be vindicated of this banning and the gm's who did it get 4 day old gnome poop in their morning coffee every morning for a year straight.</p><p>Of course, if SOE would simply get EQ2 to work PROPERLY on multi-core systems, this would be a null issue. But then the gm's would need to find new reasons to give out mushroom bruises to unsuspecting victims.</p>
