Are there any free programs out there that let you edit scenes and do special effects such as text?

if you have a window computer then you should have something called Window Movie Maker, that is what i use.

Well, maybe a 'downloadable demo' is, but the full program isn't. WinMovieMaker is free cause it comes with WinXP. If you(r dad) have a videocamera it probably had video editing software come with it too.</p><p>.WMV does have a plus: the output is small (10% of your fraps material), for which in the other cases you'd need VirtualDub or Dr.DivX programs and codecs to compress it to the same acceptable 10%.</p><p>Goodluck</p>

Thanks. Can windows movie maker blur specific things in the videos and cut the scenes?

Windows Movie Maker does have a blur effect but I think it only works on the whole clip and not specific spots...I don't think you can select certain areas in an frame that you want blurred... You can split and trim clips with it though.
