How do I earn a title? I see most everyone these days with a special title like Pirate or treasure hunter. I would like one too, but I don't have a clue where to start.

<p>Examples of how to get titles:</p><p>When you are done with an AA line (when you get the last ability) in your first AA tree you automatically get a title. You can see in advance what the title is by mouse over the last abilities in your AA chart. Pirate, for example, is an AA title for certain classes.</p><p>When you have finished a number of Heritage quests you can go to your towns mage tower and be given a title, for example treasure hunter. Theres also Lore seeker and more. I dont recall the required number of heritage quests for each title, sorry.</p><p>At higher levels you can do quests that grants titles. I think all of these are for 50+ players. For example theres a quest series in Lesser faydark from Nybright camp that gives the title Nybright Benefactor. In the Mara expansion there are some really cool titles to be earned. PoF and KoS got some faction quest titles too that are popular. </p><p>At low levels you can start working on city titles by raising faction with a city guild by doing writs. Remember there are also tradeskill writs that gives unique faction titles. These titles require hard work.</p><p>When you have killed many many mobs of a certain kind you can get for example a Hunter title; Hunter of gnolls. The highest title for this type is Destroyer.</p>

What does it mean when I recieve an in-game message that says I have become known as an undead-slayer?  Is that a title or something else entirely?

There are several ranks of stuff-killing on the way to a title for it.  Slayer is one of them.

<p>Keep in mind that titles must be earned in this game. If you give yourself a title, such as King'odps or Meleemaster, someone will eventually petition the name and the GMs will give you a name you wont like.</p><p>Killing 500 of some monsters, like orcs, gnolls, goblins, undead, etc., will get you a suffix title. Just having an account for a year can get you a title through the /claim function.</p><p>If you're in a high enough level guild, you can buy a royal-type prefix title from the city merchant.</p><p>There are so many ways to gain titles! It really is best to check the references above</p>

Well, food for thought! Just yesterday I pushed my wizzie through and received a title (suffix). When I went to apply it I found that I actually have two titles available. I must have gotten one and didn't connect up the info so didn't run around with that title at all. <img src="/smilies/908627bbe5e9f6a080977db8c365caff.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />
