I think a great idea for weapons would be to make them a bit more customizable. Here's how: Just as the Adornment system has allowed gear to be customized along specific parameters, it would be great to have a weapon that we could customize even more.

For instance, there are several different types of weapons that have different speed and damage ratings. We could choose whichever we like, and for a price a weaponsmith or tinkerer could alter it just like making a new Mastercrafted weapon. Then have a jeweler or sage imbue it with specific "runes" that provided the stats, and an adornment for the proc. The difference, each weapon would have room for up to 7 different runes. If someone wanted to have 7 Strength runes on their weapon, they could, or perhaps 2 Strength, 2 Wisdom and 3 Stamina. The point being, they'd be customizable.

Then, let the player choose the appearance of his/her weapon from several existing models for that weapon.

This would be a very nice quality-of-life change. It would also engage the tradeskilling community even more.

To compliment your idea of adding runes to a weapon to alter its stats / appearance -- they can create a new tradeskill class, similar to tinkerer, called Runesmith.

Perhaps instead of harvesting, the Runesmith could "extract" the components it needs from other items. For example, if you wanted to add a +3 Strength, the Runesmith would need an item that had that stat, and then "extract" it from said item.

He would then apply that stat to a rune -- runesmithing. Different "bonuses" would require different runes. That would add another element to it, would the runes be found, made, hunted, purchased?

Good idea, I like it!
