Hi all I was thinking about makeing a guild on the Butcherblock server and have a few questions that i have had a trouble finding answers for. one of them is how should i set the guild up, what are some basic rules that most people have in their guilds and how hard is it to find people who want to join? Thank you in advance

What kind of guild you looking to create?

Will it be casual friendly?

Raid friendly?

Roleplay friendly?

Group friendly?

Tradeskill friendly?

New Player friendly?

Rules will depend on what your looking to accomplish with your guild.

EXAMPLE:

If you will require a certain amount of play time per day, week, or month?

If you will require a certain amount of writs, HQ's, or status given per day, week, or month?

If you will be a primarly evil guild or good guild...or will you be neutral?

What races/classes will you allow within your guild?

Rules will also depend on how you expect others to act with each other.

Like having players following the set EULA

Helping new recruits/players

There are a lot of factors in guild set up, but the majority of it is based off what your looking to accomplish and how quickly.

In regards to recruiting new members....its dependant on what the person is looking for and if your guild fits the requirements and vice versa if the new person fits the requirements of your guild.

However such things as the GRT (Guild Recruitment Tool) don't work to well for new guilds out there...it's good to advertise when and where you can...

My advice - join a few guilds and determine the playstyle your truly like. Once you figure out the guild style you want to create ask the questions and determine if based on how much your willing to put into the game if you can make an effective guild leader for that type of guild.

{EDIT} - guilds that try to be all things to all people tend to end up being good at nothing in particular. They struggle forever to get beyond level 20 which makes recruiting even harder. Just a FYI thought anyway...
