Hello, since a few days its really wierd. So far i ve had Sprint, cures (pods) and my selfcure (Monk ability) put me into combat on some occasions. Not always. The same goes for my selfmade noxious wards (pods). I usually always have 1 active running. Sometimes when a scout jumps me it would put me into combat after absorbing an amount of poison damage sometimes not. And theres still the odd bug(?) when you attack someone with a dot / snare / lasting effect and they zone and you dont mind going after them and they return after some minutes you re suddenly in combat again (even when canceling the effect on your buff bar as they zoned away). So to conclude, some actions put you sometimes into combat. Theres no consistency ... Anyone else experiencing the same things ? Caine Blades (retired) Venekor

I think it's a pet bug right now. Any sprint, etc. after you've been attacked by a pet puts you into combat. I'm not sure, but it happens every time I hit sprint after a pet attacks me.

Caine Blades (retired) Venekor
I agree the in-combat/out-of-combat mechanics are messed up and there is no rhyme or reason as to what puts you in combat and what doesn't. The lamest is being in combat, your target evacing, you go out of combat, then back into it when they are done evacing and sitting in immunity. Anway, it's these reasons why I think no zoning while engaged in pvp encounter should not be implemented yet...not until all that mess gets fixed.

2 things, for the OP

1) Monk heal of course should put you into combat

2) keep in mind that if you're in a pve contest, and heal up damage from that fight AFTER you've been engaged by a pvp opponent.. you're goin to stay in combat with that player.

Ok heres another one: the Scenario was me beeing at the Ant spire with a 65 fury standing before me. I couldnt attack him since the lvl range there is 4. A few seconds later a whole party of 70s zoned in and i hit my monk sprint (70%) and ran away so fast neither the 65 Fury nor the 70s could react (they were in immunity anyway). I made no combat actions just ran away. The second i used my Manastone (to replenish some energy as i guessed this would be a long run) i was put into combat. My combat log says because i attacked the 65 Fury ?! How silly is that ? Firstly, i did nothing except running and using my manastone and secondly i cant attack him because we were in Ant (he didnt attack me and was miles behind me as i used the Manastone). This is so screwed atm and on a sidenote its just absurd i couldnt attack the 65 in the first place because of that silly 4 level range rule. If there were 2 or more they could easily take me out, if its a 65 Mage for example it gives him / them first strike capability etc. This 4 level range rule might make sense for the lower tiers but once you enter t7 it should be FFA whereever you go.
