New player here, started off with a coercer. Just got her to level 20 yesterday.

Had a quick question about the commands for the pet. I have made macros for each of the pet commands and stuck them in my hot bar - but my question is isnt there a dedicated pet bar available in the game? I am using the Profit UI and I dont seem to find any such pet button bar.

Also at this level in the Commonlands I dont seem to find any caster pets - almost every mob is a melee one and it gets chewed up real fast. Is there a listing anywhere of good coercer pets in each zone?

Thanks in advance for your help

Alt + P will bring up the pet window and hide it. As for listing i haven no idea.

Part 1: The pet bar's icons are draggable, so there's no need to make macros for them if you want them on another bar (I don't know if this is compatible with your 3rd party UI, though). Part 2: http://www.eq2i.com/articles/Coercer_Pets

Thank you. These were most useful.

Couple of annoying things with the pets though...I wish they would scale up to your own level if they were lower level than you, its fairly annoying to go into a level 15 dungeon at level 20 and still able to get only level 15 pets - esp when other classes can mow through the content at that level differential...

And second, I wish the pet when charmed assumed all faction standings from the caster. Its sooo irritating to charm a pet only to have the town guards kill it - and they then come and kill me!!( like in the Ruins )

First off with pet selection I think its an advantage to use Erudite as the race of choice for coercer. Erudites get this neat race ability called Aura Sense. With this ability you can easily find caster and healer pets, therefore if a mob is a caster you will see a blue aura around them. With healing mob you will see a green aura around it. Without this Aura Sense ability as another race you will have a tough time finding the caster and healer pets.

As far as pet commands there are you you can make macro's for and use on your hotbar if you don't know them already.

The first is for ranged attack, use the folowing command:

/pet ranged

Great when using a caster pet and chaining down the mob to root and nuke.

Then you have the melee command if you no longer want to have your pet attack in ranged:

/pet melee

Hope this helps a little if any. I would suggest you ditch that coecer you got now and start over as an erudite, if your not one already, before you get leveled up to high. Then you won't have to worry or trouble yourself to death trying to find caster pets.

I'd just learned about /pet ranged and /pet melee. Great tip! I couldn't figure out how to keep a caster pet alive long enough to do any good, lol! Anyone know a good UI with /pet ranged & /pet melee in the pet window? I've set up hotkeys for now & put them close to the pet window, but it'd be cool to have them all in one place. (using Profit Reborn atm.)

Profit has those buttons in the pet window. They say "M" and "R". Othesus - Dirge - Lucan DLere Vaspar - Fury - Lucan DLere
