W.... T.... F.... Lvl 67 wizzy and I was just rolling around being a shiny [Removed for Content] and all of a sudden, a brigand jumps me. No biggy, he hurt me pretty bad, I'll just outrun him and evac... oh wait, whats this, I'm in [Removed for Content] combat, well, time to lay down and die so I can revive already, I'm at 25% from the initial pwning and stuns etc. I revive and check my log to see [Removed for Content] dragged me into combat. Oh snap, it was the AA ward from Magi's Shielding. Great, just what we [Removed for Content] need, to make wizards even LESS survivable in PvP. Please tell me this is unintentional So, should I go and burn some money respeccing and figuring out where to spend my newly found 10 AA or is this a bug and gonna get fixed? (heh) And yes, I checked my combat log and it said I entered combat because my AA ward absorbed melee damage.

Quit being a puss and fight him out. You put the AA into toughening up your defense, now put some int toughening up your sack you chicken [Removed for Content] coward! GET BACKOUT THERE AND BE A MAN! Or some such stuff like that.

I've had both of those AA's for about 1000 fights now.

This must be new as of today.

this doesnt just concern wizards. anything that procs a heal or ward will pull you into pvp combat ultimately making some classes abilities and certain items useless in pvp. you can forget about using imbued chest peices or the warding cloak from EoF if you want to survive in pvp.

He'd have to have 10 of these wards stacked to save him from a brigand. Nah, still wouldn't be enough. Garbage classes, garbage game tbh.

It's always been this way I thought? Anything that procs something beneficial on you pulled you into combat.

With all due respect, you need to turn and fight instead of running unless its a group, and if that is the case, then it really doesnt matter unless your a plate tank.

2 casts can pretty much put them down (resists aside). Sure, your big hits take a long time to cast, but that is why they gave you stun's and stiffles.

And yes I play a wizard.

Turn and fight the brigand man says. Do it!

Then come back and tell us how it went. /snicker

Ya it has been doing that for PROCS for a while but that ward is AUTO, it doens't proc its ALWAYS up, so any time we get hit (gank groups included) it will pull us in. This happened to me the other day too, BUT it hasn't been happening lately... maybe they fixed it and didn't tell us? I dunno but it does suck. And yes i play a wizzy, I am a champ and I solo ALOT, so i need to be able to get away from gank groups and not get pulled into combat from my "saved from the scout" ward. they gave it to us b/c we can't usually get much higher than 30% mit... which kinda sux when rangers are hittin for 200-300 at a time in T3.

You've got ward's and a manashield if I'm not mistaken. Chain him down and blast the [Removed for Content] out of him man, your a wizard!!!!

Have to spec for it. If you dont have manashield on a pvp server, you are doing something wrong in T7

Ok, seems some people have kinda missed the point of my complaint. This isn't a case of running or fighting, its about having a fighting chance. For example, I'm riding along, come around a bend and all of a sudden theres a flash of colour and a freep/Q/exile is hitting me, its a predator/rouge so staying in close at melee range is suicide, I try to ride off a bit of distance so I'm not gonna die.

Suddenly I'm in combat and not only that, unless that person is [Removed for Content] handicapped and has been drinking varnish, he's dropped a snare on me so not only am I running at 0% but now up to what, -55% or so? Now I'm in range you can throw a stun to keep me from moving for those positional attacks and bam, super easy tokens. THIS is the issue I was trying to bring up before the derailment.

Generally, unless the numbers are wildly against me or I'm carrying something I really don't want to lose, like plat, I'll stay and fight it out, I'll probably lose against lvl 70s with decent gear and EoF jewels, but sometimes I catch a break and I win, this is why I play on a PvP server, cause its fun.

Also as a side note, this does seem to be a come and go issue, I was hit by an assassin and wasn't dragged into combat, but a brigand and then later an SK hit me and I was dragged into combat, then a couple more times after that, I was hit and not put in combat so I don't know what the variable is that causes me to be put into combat, I wish I knew, only that the ward seems to be the trigger, though its not consistent.

/sigh Maybe I'll get an answer to this that doesn't include ZOMG MAN UP AND FIGHT. Asshats. <3

steps for killing a red: wait for them to attack someone else, then jump them. while they are distracted by their current opponent, you have about 30 seconds to attempt to pull them into combat. reap infamy from the noob brigand attempting to use a carpet whilst hes stuck in combat without even attacking.
