Can anyone give me some advice as to which AA's to get in the Guardian Tree? At first glance they all seem pretty bland, and only one of our taunts gets any upgrades at all. Looking for a build that will help tank better, but I can't seem to find anything that will help to that end very much. Thanks in advance.

First - What are you tanking? Raids/heroic content? What is the difficulty of the mobs you are facing (if raiding is your guild casual aka not the most experienced healers?) To give you an idea of a complete MT Spec here is what I have and I wouldn't necessarily recommend it. Command 3 Wall of Force 3 Plant 5 Stone Sphere 5 Unyielding will 5 Tower of Stone 5 Block 1 Merciless Charge 3 Sever 4 Overpower 3 Vindictive Strike 3 Rescue 5 Reinforcement 5 - Once again this is from a MT perspective and a lot of this is unique preferences and I would not necessarily recommend it.

Well currently, I'm just level 52. But our guild is going to be going pretty hardcore in the next couple months, just looking for something to be working towards. We're all coming back from long breaks but know how to play, so I'm just looking for something like a MT build, I guess. Haven't played in a while so I'm looking for a little help I know how to tank, just not where to spend the points.

My Build - In my opinion a nice balance between Tanking and DPS: Slaughtering Line Command 3 Wall of Force 5 Stone Sphere 5 Unyielding Will 2 Tower of Stone 5 Block Stalwarting Line Overpower 5 Vindictive Strike 5 Flay 5 Lay Waste 5 Double Attack Leftover: Rescue 3 Reinforcement 5

First, Halbarad's Slaughtering and Stalwarting labels are switched. Just didn't want you to get confused there.

Second, it only costs 10gp to respec your AA once per month. Here is an important note on levelling toons since that change was added. No one should be working on their final AA build as they level up, this includes every class, not just guards. (Unless your final build = the best levelling build) Since you're only 52, don't worry about your final AA build. Spend your AA now that will take you through your 50/60s. If you're not going to be raid tanking before 70, you have 18 levels to get before the final AA build becomes important. Spend your AA in a way that will help you now in levelling, then when you reach 70, respec for 10gp to your final build.

I noticed both of you put 5 points into Stone Sphere.

I've never used it much, as it seems to be asking for huge damage spikes from AoE's.

Do either of you use it on a regular basis? If so, under what conditions?

On any mob that doesn't have a massive AE (and is thus potentially gonna have you soak an entire group's worth of damage), Stone Sphere is useful. It's basically 6 procs of Stoneskin at 25% chance - in fact it's only drawback is that added group protection feature.

I used to be paranoid that I'd get 1-shotted using it, but experience has taught me it's very unlikely (read: never happened) that if an AE does hit the group that a) you'll soak damage for all 6 members, b) stoneskin won't proc, and c) it'll be such colossal damage as to 1-shot you through wards etc. There are only really a dozen named encounters I can think of that you wouldn't want to use it on, mostly ones like PHH or Wuoshi.

It's extremely good if you're pulling multiple mobs because it'll proc like mad in the first few seconds of the fight and really lessen the initial spike. Stuff like the groups of vampires in FTH, or Sariah's adds that have some nasty fast-hitting DPS at the start before debuffs are in can be mitigated quite effectively.

In short, I can see why you could put 5 points in it, but I don't agree personally, because 5 in Plant are too useful to me, and I wouldn't want to lose reinforcement or double attack.

Sorry, I wasn't in game when I typed the list and since I have done it ages ago, I really forgot what actual numbers I had So, here is my correct spec (Stalwarting): Command 3 Wall of Force 3 Plant 5 Unyielding Will 2 Stone Sphere 2 Tower of Stone 5 Block

I use it on Woushi/PHH all the time It doesn't matter. I will explain why the spell really is insane - just send me a tell ingame lucan_dlere.jaraxx - I'm not going to post why it's the best spell we have tho it should be very obvious.
