What is the name of the spell that summons a pet flying book? And where in Freeport can you buy it please? Most of the discussions regarding this are very old and about much earlier releases of EQ2, I saw posts which said you can buy that spell at level 30 (?) was it, but the other day saw a wizard level 10 dragging a book behind him. ..

He did not have the spell you are referring to. His book was simply the AA pet we get, and the pet is determined by what weapon you are using at the moment it is summoned. The fun spell book, well, i forget its name, but you can get it for like 30s or something from the wizards' trainer in the Arcane Sciences building in NFP

Sent my conjuror avatar to the mage tower in south queynos to see if I could find the vendor there for fun spells, but no luck at all. Also have seen miniature lion pets following ppl around, where can you find those? Is there a list or can someone pls post one, the spell names and where to buy and whom from exactly? Thanks.

The miniature lion you refer to is most probably one of the quest rewards for the Marr Deity Questline which you can start from an NPC in Kelethlin IIRC. For my own interest I am after the Wizard fluff spell that gives you an icy appearance, I thought it was in the SQ mage tower from the Wizard Training but checked there to no avail. Any ideas anyone ?

You are looking in the right place, you just need some more patience. The spells wont be available to you until you are high enough level. Dont remember the exact numbers but it is like 30, 40, 50. something like that. An AA pet is actually the familiar you recieve after you spend your first AA point in the sorcerer KoS tree. for us wizards there are 3 different ones, depending on if you have a dagger, 2hdr or one handed staff equipped when you summon it. Each does its own thing. Me? I equip a 2hdr and summon the pet then switch back to my 1hdr. That way i have the extra 3% crit chance. Hope that helps

Does zoning set the AA pet back to what ever is in your mainhand at the time of zoning or does it stay put with what was equipped when the pet was cast ?

Soryy, but I have no one else to answer my questions and no idea where to look for info except in this forums, which I will do right now, for the KoS tree... gahhhhhh

Found some info... I see it means the Kingdom of Sky tree, and I do not have any expansions, so I guess that's out for me...

AP = Achievement Points, although most people refer to them as AA (Achievement Abilities) You gain them by killing named NPC's, completing quests, when you visit locations around the game world and for getting certain items. You have two 'trees' of abilites one referred to as the KoS tree (Kingdom of Sky) and the EoF tree (Echoes of Faydwer) and you spend points in these trees to gain aditional skills or boost existing abilities, each tree holds 50 points so maximum number of AA points you can gain at the moment is 100. As you have correctly identified you only have access to these trees by having the respective expansion, KoS or EoF. You can start gaining AA experience from level 10 now IIRC. Hope that gives you what you are after.
