I recently installed Vista from XP, clean install, not "upgraded". All my old files are teh gonez0r. When I click Download it scans my files and says "Download Cancelled." I tried doing a clean boot w/ msconfig as someone told me online, that didn't work. Any ideas? O.o EDIT: It also says "No Characters Found" in the window under the EQ2Players thing. O.o FIXED: Turned off Windows Vista UAC & Rebooted, works fine.

I had the same problem but found the answer somewhere in a thread here. You need to right click your Eq2 icon, go to properties and in the compatability tab tell it to run in WinXp mode and theres a box at the bottom to click to make sure its run for administrator too. Restart and it should work for you. Easy fix, just a bug with Vista and EQ2 or something along the lines.

Well I hate to sound like a Noob, but what does uac stand for because when i go to control panel then users there is nothing that remotely looks like a uac. I have done just about everything, I hate Vista from the bottom of my heart. Please someone save me here i am drowning. Oh, also I noticed that all servers are down could that be a problem as to why my download is cancelled. *Sarcasm* I do so love going and buying a new game and not being able to play!

Another option, if you don't want to completely disable UAC (User access control), is to right click on your shortcut and choose to run the program as the administrator. I was having this issue, so now when i start EQ I simplay run it as the administrator and I'm good to go.
