I just decided to re-open my EQ2 account today. Bought a game card, punched it in.

Logged in and tried to start the patch process. No dought I got some downloading to do. It's been 6 months since I played.

However, the patcher will download for a time somewhere between 30 seconds and 10 minutes... Then it will stop and say "Download Canceled" (As if I clicked the cancel button.)

Not sure what is going on. I do have wireless internet, that drops from time to time... But that is like once every other day. and it re-connects to the wireless signal in seconds.

Any ideas? Anybody having this problem right now? (Is it server side? Or Client?)

- Witt

I have that problem a lot too, and I am also on wireless internet. Fortunately, you can restart it and it picks up where it left off. Its just a pain in the read when you wanna let it download while you are in the other room doing other things. -h

If you're using Vista try disabling UAC that will stop the patcher doing its job.

Don't know about the UAC, but I had the same issue and was about to try installing XP on the new computer that I got. Ended up right clicking on the EQ2 file on my desktop and running it as a administrator. After that it was able to complete the update and then I could just double left click and get the game working.
