View Full Version : Request for Sort by Class Function for the Recipe Book

It would be awesome for a [Sage, Jeweler, and Alchemist] to be able to filter by class in their recipe book. That way you don't have to examine all the spells per level to find the ones for a specific class or use and external resource to determine what they are. Many people are leveling alts and commission crafters to make all the spells for their class for a certain level(s).

This would be a great time saving function.

Thanks

Ulutia DaBadd'Kitty

Yes, absolutely. I have often wondered why this search feature was never there. Even on the spells you create you have no idea who they are for before you actually create them. It would be nice if on the receipe itself it would denote which class the spell was for.

The problem also exist when someone says, "can you create spells for [Insert class here]?" Unless you have already dont it, you dont know.

In short, yes - this would be a great addition to the search and sort features for recipes.

Good suggestion! There currently is a way to find out the class but you have to examine the recipe then examine the final product.

This would definitely be handy, however, I think this is a UI/coding request more than something that would fall into my desk. As such it's probably more of a Look and Feel issue.

Domino,

Welcome to the community and thank you for the quick response. Would it be possible to have a form admin move this thread into the Look and Feel secition or should i repost it there?

Ulutia DaBadd'Kitty

You might also add in as much extra detail as you can about what you'd want to see - even screenshot mock-ups if you can photoshop them. Since the guys who do the UI may not necessarily be crafters (or if they are, not make spells) the clearer you can make the problem and your suggested solution, the more likely they'll be to understand and take it on board. Of course, it doesn't guarantee it'll happen, but it never hurts to ask!

You can always ask a mod to move it as well.

The best way probably is to use the report abuse to moderator link and request it moved in the comment box.

The Recipe Window should have the same "ease - of - use" the market window gives. Allowing players to sort by slot, type, level, ect. Likewise the original "Recipie Scroll" and Trade Level should also be listed. I would much rather select Char lvl 12 - Mastercraft to find all my cloth armor then select all my books in that range and thumb through all the different craftables. Also Instead of listing the "Discovered" stats of a item, default being shaped; As you unclock or discover items, all previous strengths become visable. Instead of having to discover crude by stopping the craft, Crude could be discovered by making a item shaped. Similarly, All lower results are cleared up when a item is made pristine.

I've asked about this sort of thing before myself and I'd like it to be possible to filter the recipes to the point that I could create a filter to show only T2 piercing DW weapons.

In addition, I'd like to see the option for any recipe filters you create to be saved/viewable only by the character that created so that my carpenter doesn't have to sort through my weaponsmith and armorer filters in the dropdown list.

Amen. Add a button that links to a class selection pop up, with a level range set field. Search by class and level.

It's already there, just needs to be formatted for tradeskills.
