Any illusionists do this? I duo it with a fury and just don't see how I could solo it.

Every night. It's quite simple, root+nuke+pet=killing crap quick

I find the most difficult part to be the beetle swarm rooms. How do you handle those rooms?

2 things make soloing this much easier. One is to get your faction up with the djinn. You can do this by killing Naga in PoF. Just get out of the "scowls" category.

Next is learning to leave the ring event scarab rooms between waves. When you kill the last mob from each ring event, it takes the room maybe 3 seconds to repop. Get out of the room during that time and rest. With the djinn faction, you don't have to worry about repopping djinn agro.

Just make sure to kill the snakes inside the rooms. If you don't they usually don't leave a chest.

Hope this helps.

The beetle rooms don't see invis. Just cast invis between waves if you need to rest.

Mihos wrote:

The beetle rooms don't see invis. Just cast invis between waves if you need to rest.

This is what i do as well. Watch the last mobs HP que up invis and with your chrono on it is easily casted fast enough for the repops. They dont see invis so its all good. Really the only ANNOYING part of that place is the FREEKING dolls that you have to move from room to room. Takes sooooo long along and angers me.

I don't bother with the dolls every time - it takes me an extra half hour, which is almost as long as the rest of the zone. It does mean 4 named rather than 6 so less chance for masters. (i'm not soloing it though - that is dual boxed with a SK)

Try putting your spell shield up right before you break your mez on the keeper of silence so you have a full 3 charges to go through when fighting him after you've killed the adds. Once you become good at soloing poet's you can do cazel's. I just got an archer's frenzy, the ranger's offensive stance, to drop the other day. With no masters I usually end up with about 110 gold from poets and 65g from cazel's.

How many mobs at once are you facing in these places?

Life777form wrote:
How many mobs at once are you facing in these places?
um lets see. the first 2 waves of cyclopses bout 8-12. then 1 ^^^ then 1 ^^^. The next is the scarabs it varies from 4-8 with the end of the ring event having 1-2 mobs either 1 ^^^ or 1 ^^^ and 1 ^. Then the top floor the firs mob is 1 ^^^ 1 ^ 1^. Then 1^^^ then 2 sets of 1^^^ 2 v. I dont face to many mobs tho most of them are from the scarab ring events which is 3 waves then the final one.

I tried my luck at soloing Poet's Palace (on easy setting) the other day and was pleasantly surprised to take out the Keeper of Silence without using any special tactics except mezzing him to pause the fight and give my pet time to recover. I have NO fabled gear but several masters -- including my pet -- and the rest Adept III's so, if I can do it, I bet almost any 70 Illusionist can do it.

The Keeper is an enchanter so, like any caster, try to keep him stifled, drain his power and use your spellshield. He mezzes often too and it was amusing to see him mez my pet -- while the Keeper was mezzed himself -- but he never mezzed me; unless he tried and mezzed himself due to the spellshield, lol.

I killed the ones right outside of Shimmering Citadel and all they gave me was +The Char'Gin...which weren't scowling in the first place. It says they are a group if desert nomads.
