Ok this has crept up again during the past few live updates and is now getting to stupid levels again, nearly every other time i zone i am booted to the character select screen. The same problem occured at the start of 2006 also and was fixed but its getting to the point of being rather gamebreaking when you have to zone 6 times to get somewhere and you crash on 3+ of those. When i posted about this in 2006 i followed all the TSR suggestions setting ports to be forwarded on my router, resetting the router and so on but it was a purely server side issue it seems as everyone noticed it go away with one patch. Is this being sorted because getting kicked then sitting there being told you already have a character in the world is getting very frustrating. Thankyou.

Most users aren't experiencing this, so it makes it difficult to say whether it's the server or your connection. Do you use Pro Tools? What brand is your router, even though you've configured ports? Also post an msinfo32 here and we'll look over it. For Windows XP: 1. Run msinfo32 from your Start menu (click Start, Run..., then type "msinfo32" and hit Enter) 2. Click on the "File" menu and choose "Export..." 3. Save the file as a Text Document and name it "MSinfo.txt" 4. Paste the information in that file here.

A few of us that post here have been having this problem. I can tell you a little about it but not a solution. It happens whenever you try to zone without a click zone (e.g., boat to or from BB, SS to Freeport/Qeynos, most EoF zones). It happens on one of two accounts that I play regardless of the computer (same home network). Second account zones fine all the time. It worked for a few days pre-GU 34 but when GU-34 came out, the crashes came back.

<p>I'm have about same problem to on baazar . I go to zone get error must shut down eq2, and some time i can just be in a zone doing nothing just simpley turn get error must shut down eq2. I did not have this problem untill last couple update myself.</p><p> But it to point it is making game no fun. i'm at the point were i go sit in zone untill i get a group or i'll be crashing to much. I seen few other people say something about it to so i know i'm not the only one on server. </p><p> about ever group i'm in someone crash has to reboot. I alse want to add it happens to me even if i zoning to pick another char i never had this problem untill last update.</p>

<p>I'm afraid that there are more users experiencing this problem all the time. I too had had an occasional kick to character select when zoning, this was happening about once per session. Since the last update I'm lucky to get away with less than five or six per night, it's usually more. Once in a while to spice up the variety I'll get the unable to find a server box message and have to relog completely. An ask around of my guildees reveals that many of them are also having this problem.</p><p>When does it happen? Well often when exiting a tradeskill area, using a bell, taking the boat to BB, the spires, the list goes on. The only advantage so far has been when using the boat to BB. When I log back in I consistently find myself at the far end of BB at the Greater Fay entrance. Very useful if I'm in a hurry to GF, not so much when going to Unrest.</p><p>Probably not connected but I thought I'd mention it whilst I think of it. Does anyone else have the problem that you get one strain of music overlaid over another when changing zones? Not always a great problem, and it often corrects itself after time, but some combinations of two melodies can be excruciating, causing a voluntary move to character select.</p>

Same here, opened ports on the router and still the same issue. It's really annoying..

Huge amount of other info in the msinfo but if the above doesnt cover what you need please specify a section as your forums can only accept a tiny amount per post. Router is the linksys WRT54GSV4 same as it was last year with the same issues and same as its been since the patch that resolved those issues. Ive reset it and re-done the port forwarding for the specified ranges on UDP/TCP and both and none of those make a difference. I have had a new PC between the same issues last year and the current issues now so im very skeptical that its system related, if it is router related then id be very curious why its been working for the past year fine again and now having the same problem. My ISP is Virgin Media previously NTL in the UK with a cable modem broadband package of 1mbps. I have played SWG and LOTR:O on the same setup with no similar zoning issues or crashes or problems connecting. Im tearing my hair out now because its not the crashing thats frustrating its the unhelpful message that you have a character in the world and must wait that aggrevates as you cant simply reconnect.

</blockquote> recheck the stickied post, it reflects the exact pieces you need to include in the post, the whole file for dxdiag and msinfo are not needed

<p>On the registry scan, it appears that your registry for the system is badly corrupted, the errors are also referencing sections outside of the station launcher, for example</p><p>C:Program FilesCommon FilesJavaUpdateBase Imagesjre1.5.0.b64patch-jre1.5.0_10.b03launcher.exe," file version: N/A.</p><p>This is referencing the install of your Java RunTime environment, the launcher it is refering to is the java up launcher, not the station launcher</p><p>one of the systems I run eq2 on does not have Java installed on it at all, so the JRE is not a prerequisite for the station launcher. Suspect that the Norton System Scanner may have made problems worse in your registry. </p>
Please delete- started new thread with relevant system info.
