One of the house items I got early in the game, a long time ago, was a book that when placed remained open. You could lay it on a table or bed as if you had just put it down open to the page you were reading. There was only one like it that I know of. Unfortunately, on a book collection drive while trying to get rid of extra stuff in my house, I collected this book. Now I can't find it.

I think it also looks like an open book in inventory, but, of course, it doesn't turn into a stack when placed. Can anyone tell me what is the name of the only book in the game that remains open when placed.

Werewolf L&L Book I think. One of the EOF L&L books has the open book graphic when placed in the home.

Ah, I think it may actually be the treant L&L book since I recently finished that with the old SK in my sig.

There are actually a few books that have an open graphic. The Kobold Lore & Legend book has an open book graphic. Also, there is a book from the Dark Elf on the beach in Nek Forest that you get from completing their line of quests that is also an open book.

Thank you all for your answers. I'm working on werewolf L&L now and haven't done the kobold yet. Will do that too.

I probably had the one from the dark elf on the beach and I'm going to send an alt to do that quest again. I won't let go of any more open books.

Absent is right, it is the Kobold one, not Werewolf from EoF L&Ls. Checked it last night to verify. I just threw out werewolf, only remembering it was one of the EoF ones, but not which one in paticular.

I can confirm that the kobold L&L has that graphic. Being as you now get a placeable book both at the start and again at the end of your L&L quest, that would be the quickest one to obtain with a higher level character. Just click on that wheelbarrow in Kaladim, and voila! Placeable book. As others have said, there is the quested booked from the Nek beach too. It is called Nektulos Forest by Torq De'Rech. The quest that gives this reward comes from a Dark Elf NPC of the same name but you have to do a few quests for other NPCs on the beach before you can get this quest from Torq. Hopefully that clue will help you track down the quest. After having done so many quests, my memory of specific details is foggy. I remember doing it in my twenties over the course of an afternoon. Multiple quests were involved and I had to kill some barracudas and rarer spawn crabs. There is also a very rare book that has the same graphic except it is also surrounded by a glow. It came from a monk npc during a live event a very long time ago. They are very scarce and I imagine a good portion of the few that existed have disappeared with players who no longer play.

It was a reward for helping a (guide/GM controlled) monk trying to escape the "plague." The plague was a precursor event to the Bloodline Chronicles, IIRC, and many NPC's -- and PC's -- were affected by it and spread it to others (both NPC's and PC's). Some of the bankers and other NPC's in Freeport (maybe Qeynos too?) still sneeze but the nasty-looking green blotches (like a Defiler's disease-based spell) are absent.
