Hey folks

Quick question for those that have them.. What temps are you seeing on your single (not sli) 8800gtx with the graphics set to extreme quality (no further tweeks to AA, vsync forced off etc)?

Currently my card is not overclocked (no point cpu limited blah blah blah) and has 120mm intake and extract to the case (akasa mirage / eclipse) but it is 59 / 60 at idle and around 75 after a afternoon of eq2. Ive seen similar numbers elsewhere but is this normal for everyone? I think I really need to crack on and get my stuff watercooled.

(Oh ps cpu is overclocked but system temp only 34ish after an afternoons playing)

Many thanks in advance - toka

I have a 8800gts and altough the card is a bit slower than yours, I see about the same temps, so don't worry.

Im convinced that the card heats my room. O o
Download Rivetuner from www.guru3d.com and set the low level fan control to 100% duty cycle on windows startup. Idle then is low 50's and full 3D is generally mid 60's.

I have an ATI card so no direct comparrison but I would not rely on EQ2 for testing your overclock. I presume Nvidia has some built in temp monitoring program, if you have the means to view the temp while playing games thats useful. I notice on my highly overclocked ATI card I play EQ2 all day and the temp is around 82 degrees but if I play something far more demanding on the graphics card such as s.t.a.l.k.e.r the temp rockets to up to 92 degrees! Which is way too toasty. It would be interesting to see if the same thing is true with Nvidia stuff.
