I hit 33 yesterday and decided I should probably upgrade my lvl 20 weapons. I was browsing through the broker and bought a dagger with pretty nice stats for my lvl (I forget what it's called) but I was wondering about the differences in slashing and piercing damage?

Going down my AA line, the Str AA's mostly have to do with sword usage and I don't have a sword/slashing weapon. Should I get one, or should I stick with piercing? My slashing is pretty high because during my lower levels (lower being 1-20ish) I used a slashing weapon so that wouldn't really be a problem.

Also there are dual wield slashing weapons. Can you dual wield using one slashing and one piercing weapon? Or do they both either have to be piercing, or slashing?

I'd really appreciate any feedback, as my second hand weapon does need replacing too.

You can use both. They use different skills to figure out their hit % (pierce vs. slash) but otherwise there's not a lot of difference. Some mobs are immune to pierce or slash, not at your level though.

Yeah, by the time you get to T7, esp if you plan to raid, you'll want a good set of slashing and piercing weapons in your bag. Maybe even crushing, though I dont actually have that. -t

And scouts don't even have the crushing skill so throw that out the window. Essentially just take the best weapons you can get at your level no matter the skill.

Did they really? I was wondering why i'd never run across anything immune to piercing. But aren't the dragons (like in AOA for instance) immune or practically immune to crushing and slashing? And how do you hit bugaboo? When I tried him I got messages saying I would never be able to hit him. I assumed that was an immunity to whatever type of damage i was trying. If that wasn't it, how do you hit him? -t

for bugaboo you either need really hi +piercing or else just more levels. being 80 and epic, he's a tough bugger right now.
