Clockwork Cobra in Shimmering Citadel

I have been trying to complete the Shimmering Citadel Catalog but cannot find a Clockwork Cobra. Several sources say they are on the second floor of the north tower. I have camped there for hours, but no success. Is there a trick get them to spawn? Are they quest triggered? Thanks.

EQ2maps show it.  I belive it spawns by the other cobras once you keep the room cleared. And it's been awhile but ya its second or third floor i forget.

Not a  thing is spawning on the second floor.

<p>Do you see a <i>non-attackable</i> cobra there? If so, you can "activate" it by right-clicking on it. It will wander around the room then despawn being replaced by several groups of (aggressive) clockwork cobras. If you don't see it -- or any selectable objects -- then something is bugged and will, hopefully, be fixed automatically when the server restarts.</p>

It took my wife and I several trips to SC before we finally located this elusive creature. It seems once the ring event is completed that it never respawns, or if it does it has a very long respawn timer. It is not completely broken, but it is very difficult to find up. Try after a server reset. Good luck.

Yes, it has a massive respawn timer (well, massive for the rather lame loot it provides~three days) and it's that non-attackable one you have to Catalog-don't make the mistake I did the first time of starting up the ring and not finding it among the snakes that spawn.
