Problem!

Hello, just wondering if any1 has had/having the same problem, i'll explain i just got a computer recently the specs are Intel E6420 duo core Asus p5n-3 SLI Motherboard Nvidia 8600gt 256mb Kingmax 1gb ram 250gb SATA hdd the problem ok everytime i play everquest 2, when i open up my bags, or quests/collection i get like lil dashes all over my screen, and my screen flickers like all weird colours like really fast, and even sometimes the whole screen has gone like white and light green and every time it does this i have to reboot my computer and its fine. i have installed the lastest drivers, i have installed old drivers, didn't fix it i use to use profit UI, gone back to the defualt, didn't fix it. i set the game to only use 1 cpu, didn't fix it temp of the video card sits on 50c when idle and go's to about 70c when raiding ect and i do play other games aswell like Battflefield 2, Bf2142, counterstrike source, i can run them on high video settings and i have no problem so it must be the game but i can't figure out how to fix it i was just wondering if any1 has had the same problem or any1 knows how to fix it cheers, Reddy

<p>Just curious.. Do you use CRT or LCD screen? Ive had issues that sound extremely similar to those, althou Ive gotten them outside game as well, with some backgrounds it doesnt show as well tho. Dunno if its same, just reacted on the description.</p>

this is crap why is no 1 answering, i posted this in the nagafen board, and it gets baned cause i have it twice, well i did that cause no 1 is answering this 1 stupid mods

50c is probally close to the max the card should ru at, 70c is way too hot, While this might not be a cooling issue, it very well could be, I would suggest getting after market cooling for the card, and add case fans

<p>In conjunction with what the above poster stated, I would either move or delete all .ini files residing under the EverQuest II directory. I would also delete the two cache file directories as well.</p>

<p>did you try a different video card cooling solution?</p><p>also, the 8xxx series of cards have driver issues across the board right now, not just the 8800s. it could be a driver issue, but sounds much more like a cooling issue.</p>

i monitored the temp and it only gets to 70 degrees, which apparently isnt that much for a vid card. like yesterday it ran fine when i was in a raid and pvping over a contested mob lol it only happens when i press a button to go into a window like quests/collections ect
