IF it works, please proceed: 4) Delete ALL files in everquest2/Testserver folder, EXCEPT TestEQ2 and TestServerHelp.txt (these are ONLY two files that are there by default) Following these steps essentially restores you to a pre-attempt at test server condition. From there, follow directions to re-patch test server (copy/pasted here for your convenience, with slight modifications in BOLD and non-modified, non-bold text compliments of Moorgard in the original FAQ) 1. Using Windows Explorer, navigate to the TestServer folder in your EverQuest II directory. Create a shortcut on your desktop for the TestEQ2.exe file, which is the launchpad used to connect to the Test server. You may rename the shortcut if you wish, but don't double-click it yet. If you do, you will end up downloading the entire Test client, which would be a long and unnecessary process. (Note: the test server is almost literally the same game: that's why you want to copy client files to the testserver folder: Think of the testserver folder as it's own 'root' everquest2 folder, except for test client files. I think you had some recursive copying in there that messed up your folder structure(s) and prevented the game from running normally) 2. Highlight all the files and folders in the EverQuest II root directory EXCEPT the following: the cache folder, the logincache folder, the TestServer folder, and the eq2_default.ini file. (You can use Control-A to highlight all the files and folders, then hold down the Control key and left-click on those folders and files to de-select them.) Right-click and drag the selected folders to the TestServer folder. Select the option to COPY the files and folders, NOT move them. (Note the ctrl-A for 'select all' and control-click to deselect (or add-to-selection, as needed) for any individual files/folders. I believe where you may have made a mistake is NOT un-selecting the appropriate folders. Make double sure you don't have the testserver folder selected, or any file/folder mentioned in this step in non-bold text. Once your selection looks good, an alternative to click-drag-copying these files is to ctrl-C for 'COPY', go to the appropriate folder (in this case, the 'testserver' folder, as mentioned, and ctrl-V, to paste. Does the same thing. Your computer should essentially replicate the contents of the everquest2 folder INTO the testserver folder, and that's the idea: when you run the testeq2.exe patcher, it does the same thing as NORMAL patcher, except it synchronizes the files to match the test server environment files. In short, this copy process, if done right, keeps YOU from having to download the entire game again, instead of only the files that are currently different/new on test. You WILL have some downloading to do tho, I assure you.) 3. When the copy is complete, double-click the desktop shortcut you made in Step 1. This will run the Test server launchpad and update the client to be able to connect to the Test server. (remember I said you WILL have files? Well here they come. But have fun. Hopefully this works) Good luck, let me know either way. Will check back periodically.
