Blocking of Spammers via Ignore.

<p>Now this is new to me so forgive me if im not up to the run of things. I have suggestion that may slow apmmers for gold/platinum sellers. This simply change the ignore function in Community listings in the UI so that when you choose to ignore one person you can but allow for the option to ignore all characters from the account of a player. And, thus those spammers who log in a newbie character cant spam you if youve ignored all tells from that account and thus reduce the number of apm tells received.</p><p>                                                                                       Thanks,</p><p>                                                                                               Terror7 (no real profile yet)</p>

wont work as the account is banned (well, from what grimwill would have us believe) when a gm catches them we need to be able to block ALL tells from a level of our choice and SoE needs to ban accounts buying plat.  its the only way to stop plat spam as soe dont really seem to be putting a real effort into combatting it.  they just hired the guy who owns a plat selling website ffs. expect some power weilding hall monitor to lock the thread soon, so that it disapears under the radar where is doesnt have to be addressed....

We are banning hundreds of plat sellers every day. We don't feel some need to go announce it to the world like some companies, but it's a daily occurance. This really should be in another area of our forum to be honest. This is a tech support forum.

Well don't know if something has been done to address this but the spamming is really getting out of control.  This morning (06/05/2007).  In a 45 min period I was hit by at least 10 spam messages.  I kept putting ignore on the sender.  I also sent in an in-game complaint.  This is really getting more than bothersome and is to the point that I am considering leaving.

<p>also on 6/05/07... on bazaar server we had a BUTLOAD of lvl 1 alts on noob island spammign away... and yes it had to be more than one, because they all happened so fast. in a 10 minute period, between about 5:30 am PSt when i logged in, and 7:00 am when the servers went down, i had at LEAST 10 spams for every 10 minutes. it was all from the same site too. if a GM or TSR wants the site name, they can PM me for it.</p><p>this ammount of spam is unnacceptable. i understand it isnt easy when all they have to do is spend another 9 dollars to get a replacement account, but if you allowed us to etiher block ALL tells from a level range of OUR choice, OR, you work up a filter for the chat servers that when it hits a .com, or .c o m or .co m or a .c om, it would automatically filter out the website. or have it filter out all permutations of the known mass spammer websites by the full address so as not to block legitimate tells from people trying to pass info along to another person. </p><p>if we can do one of the above, we might just make it more of a hassle than it is worth for them to spam that much in a day, or at the very least, make it so that it starts to cut more into their bottom lines to keep buying accounts. there HAS to be a way to get rid of the majority of this spam, i know there is.</p>

I finally got fed up with it, and made a seperate chat tab for "tells".  I just have to talk to friends through group/guild/say. I mean I CAN view tells, but there are so many, usually 1 every couple of minutes.  I needed to do something to avoid them since SOE isn't correcting it fast enough.

It is chronic at the moment thats for sure i long for the days when there next to no spam in the game lets just hope we can get back to that soon.
