Here are a few pictures of possibly new weapons that we might be able to get sooner or later ingame. I might have missed them completely and they have been out forever. The crossbow is from the merchant/tradeskill area of Neriak and the staff is on a Defiler in the place where they still worship Innoruuk instead of the Queen. Personally I think it looks like the shaman epic 1.0 done up EQ2 style. If these graphics are already in game then please excuse my ignorance.

Oh yeah, remember when back before EQ2 was released they promised us crossbows. They even have a ss at everquest2.com under races>gnomes, there is a gnome with a crossbow. That would be awesome to implement Oh i forgot, SOGA team in taiwan(was it?) did the graphics for neriak/darklight wood. Awesome weapons/armor/items tho

The spear model is already in use on the Runed Spear of the Ether aITEM -1781655055 854077476:Runed Spear of the Ether/a which drops from Korgo in Vaults. I have one on my mystic that I swap in for triggering Leg Bite.

Look at the size of the back of the helm on that dark elf, it's huge! Please, please, please scale dark elf helms down to something less than cartoon size.

the sword on the back of the inkie dude you can see in EoF, the person at the Innoruuk deity quest starter has it as for crossbow, i dont think we will be getting that, if we did it would have to be a hell of a reuse time since it takes 7 seconds to use a longbow would be like 14 seconds to reload

crossbows can have tinkered loading mechanisms that could possibly introduce a rapid fire rate, albeit a low damage and very short range. Those things aren't made for anywhere near the distance or distance & accuracy that a shortbow, longbow, recurve or even a modern compound bow is made for. The history for rapid fire or gravity feed on a crossbow can be dated back to 210BC. as noted here: excerpt from : Worldcrossbow Some pretty neat info there... Another type of crossbow used by the Chinese since at least 210 B.C. was a repeating design with a gravity-fed box magazine! The magazine was situated above the bolt track. When the lever at the rear of the crossbow was first raised and then lowered, the box moved forward, caught the string in a wooden recess and drew it to full [Removed for Content], dropped a bolt into the track and released the string. These crossbows were neither powerful nor accurate, but they could launch a bolt every second or two until the magazine emptied. Poison was usually smeared on the points to increase their lethality. Could be nice for Melee heavy scouts, but since it uses poisons, not for Bards !

Further, if you look at a vanguard plate helm on a dark elf you can't tell me it's not grossly oversized.

Dark elves need their helms properly scaled, period.

And afaik, crossbows have a longer range than normal bows. The english longbow might be the exception.
