Is it really worth to "boost" the spell Fusion with AA-Points in the Wiz-Tree? a) Can you boost the range to a factor that is pleaseant or do you still have to "cuddle" with the choosen mobs? b) Does the reduction in resist makes THAT big difference?

If you have the AA maxed out a perfect way to know if you will hit a target, is have Brocks thermal shocker in a hotkey as it has a 10 m range, i use this method all the time to get to the extreme range. With the AAs i now use it while soloing mobs, was always afriad before as you had to get so close.

Yep, root, run up Fusion back up (maybe re-root) and then Manaburn = dead heroic named.
