PVP Question about dispell magic

<p>What does dispell magic do in PVP? Is it worth anything to put 3 points in the enhance? Does it completely remove buffs, wards etc? Does it even help if they are? </p>

If you can get it off as a suprise first hit I suppose it MAY be worth casting.  But in battle imo it would be a waste when you could be casting a spell that does damage or stun/root.

<p>In Group/Raid PvP this spell upgraded actually does alot. It will strip most mental, magic, and divine <b>group buffs</b> and most of the single target buffs from the target you cast on. Imagine a Templar in the oposing group getting all their buffs stripped. They now either have to spend time recasting them or deal without them.</p><p>For a rather quick casting spell and if the fight could last 45 seconds or longer (I've personally been in many T7 Group vs. Group fights that last upwards of 5 minutes) it is worth the upgrade.</p>

I'm sure there are a lot of mental and divine buffs that are handy to remove in pvp. One that i noticed that is handy is that it removes the 'thorns' type spells that druids have. Helps to keep my little ugly pigs, etc from dying for a little while =) At least they can be 'somewhat' useful in pvp..

I have it and I think it's worth it, every class has something you can dispell with this. Spells that I know can be dispelled are: Inquisitor, almost anything casters, magi's shielding and their INT buff priests, Sow ( <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> ), thorns, avatar, bolster ( I think ) some other buffs I dont even know what they are <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />, I also remember dispelling Close Mind off a bruiser
