Ludicrous patch size?

<p>Hey guys,</p><p>I just bought Everquest II from the shop, it came included with the first two expansions up to Kingdom of Air, however I try and play the game and it starts downloading a huge number of files, I think about 3 gig worth, it says there is 14 hours of download time left, this can't possibly be a content patch???? If it is I guess that's ok but still highly unusual, or is there somehting else going on?</p><p>Any help would be appreciated</p><p>Regards</p><p>Tom</p>

Kingdom of sky is over a year ago now and alot has happened since then.  New voice packs, new entire zones, new expansion (EoF which you will have to download some off even if you dont own it) graphics, general game patches and so on. Every MMO ive played has been the same after its been out a while, even wow had huge patches to download through the horrific P2P system or as standalone files.  Easiest thing is to let it download overnight making sure you have all the voicepacks/alternative models etc ticked in the launchpad option so you get the full works.

If you consider the fact that there is probably a 100-200mb patch every month then as KoS is a year old then 3gb sounds about right. If you had got the EoF pack that's about 4-5 months old, and you're probably still looking at a 1gb patch. A long patch is pretty normal when you run it for the first time.
