Venekor is up after being merged with darathar etc, but my characters are still down. There's no character in the character select screen either. Why is this happenning? Have my characters been deleted? Its really annoying. I can't play the game ... >.> Please reply as soon s possible, sitting here waiting is extremely boring.

If you're upset about not getting an immediate reply, you should be aware that the Americans are probably only just getting out of bed in the Pacific Time Zones. Besides that though, I think there is some difficulty with the servers when it comes to getting online. I have been unable to get online for the last few hours myself. I have noted that the server status page thinks they are all up in Internet Explorer, and all up except for the 3 merged pvp servers in Firefox. Interesting that the information given to the two browsers is so different.

If you aren't able to see them in the pulldown menu on the launchpad, hit play to go through to the game's built in character select. If you still don't see your characters, you'll want to send a /petition in to the Game Masters on a different character.

There is no PLAY to hit, it stays as greyed out updating. At this moment in time I can now see my characters in the drop down box, but the play button is AWOL, that's on the EU servers though. The US servers are still as they were for me earlier, with char select being unselectable as well as the missing play button. It's been like this for at least 8 hours now, is there an ETA for when the servers will be back online properly?

The servers are up; any time they go down there is the possibility your security software will lock down EQ2 as it is communicating slightly differently. If you are *still* having the issue, let's diagnose this like you have a connectivity issue. I need your msinfo32 as well as information on your router and operating system.

The character selection in launcpad hasnt worked at all for me since I installed the game. Also, my character is listed as it was on Darathar. When I log in, my character is on "Server Offline (DOWN)" and it has been like this since it begun. Also, I see some people mentioning moving some files from some EU folder to US folder. Where exactly should these folders be? I have no US or EU folder in my EQ2 folder. Also, some say that I have to choose US servers from a dropdown at the beginning of launchpad startup, but that selection has also always been gray for me. Cant use any of those dropdown things. This is getting quite annoying really. I understand that alot can go wrong, but I also feel that we havent recieved enough information on this part. Some has even told me to create a character on Venekor to "refresh" my Venekor character list, but how the hell should I do that when I cant select any US servers to create characters on. Only servers I can choose between is Runneye and Splitpaw. Please, someone help out, Im begging for help!

Crazy: You need to change the region on the EULA to USA now. You aren't technically on a EU region server now. As you know, Runnyeye and Splitpaw are UK region servers.

DROPDOWN MENU IS GRAYED OUT AND I CANT THEREFOR CHOOSE BETWEEN EU/UK/US SERVERS. Thanks!

When I executed that file, it "installed" two text documents in my EQ2 folder. "lp_lang.txt" and "lp_rgn.txt" That didnt change anything, so I tried to execute it again, this time I got to the "Repair/remove/modify" screen. I went for Repair, it finished, but still nothing has changed. The dropdown menues are still not working for me. This is also the issue with two friends of mine who started playing at the time I did. Maybe its worth mentioning that we started playing in the trial called Play the Fae. So our launchpad is called "Play the Fae.exe". I dont know if this is normal, or has anything to do with anything. We have used this to update and play the game since we started, and we havent had any problems.

I talked to Jason and he said you need to uninstall using the application at that location, and then reinstall it.

I hope this doesnt mean I have to install the whole game AND expansions all over again... its only couple of days since I installed it, and since I used digital download, I assume I have to download it all over again.. and this time on my own internet connection, which is super-slow... how annoying! EDIT#1: Also, when you say "Uninstall", do you mean "Remove"? (With that file you told me to download, I only get Modify, Repair and Remove as choices)

Ok. I got it to work, and I also know what was wrong. The file you linked me to a few posts above is named EQ2.exe. I placed this in my EQ2 folder, and installed it. What this EQ2.exe is doing is making a new file called EQ2.exe which is the launchpad I need. But it wont make that new EQ2.exe file if its already a file with that name, so I got stuck with no new file to start, only the EQ2.exe you linked to me. Hope this wasnt messy written by me, thanks for linking that file to me.

OH MY GOD ! YOU'RE JOKING ME?! I never switched to US region on EULA. and Ive just completely uninstalled the game and reinstalled, the patch is taking hours Zzzzzzzz and all i needed to do was switch region, im such an idiot !

I solved mine after too, sorry I didn't get back to you straight away but I was so relieved to get on for the first time all day that I just didn't want to leave <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />. It turned out to be UAC interfering again, only it's the first time it's happened on this 64 bit install. Did something change in yesterday's update? Ugh, I cannot believe all that yesterday was because of that stupid thing. Thanks for trying to help.

Most security features don't kick in until behavior changes. Patches change the program slightly, so security kicked in.
