Transfer now asking for new name, and times out every time!

Hello, Well, got through to the transfer page, chose who to transfer, (I knew there was another person w/ same name) it asks me to put in a new name... I do that, then the system times out everytime!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  What's the deal? I thought it was gonna just put an 'X' at the end of the name on the younger account?? Either way - whether  I change the name during transfer or not, please tell me what's up w/ the system timing out......... Thanks for any help!

I can't even get past the first screen.....think about how many people are trying to transfer characters...its just REALLY busy I recommend you try later

That's what I'm gonna do. I am mostly curious as to why it's asking for the name change to begin with!  lol Here's another good question.... They have alll of these programers that do such an amazing job on the game right? Well then, why is it they can't write a seperate transfer program for the free week thing?? I know it's not beyond their capabilities.... my hubby used to be a programer! I think it would have been better to have a seperate program for the free week. At least that way it would have worked they way they claimed it was going to work! Just a thought SOE!  Still love ya....

<p>If your name already exists on the new server, its supposed to append an 'x' on the end of your character name so not sure why its asking for a name change unless they've changed it recently.</p><p>It times out, keep trying, it will go through.</p><p>Edit: Just noticed with the name change, its being asked also in the official transfer thread:</p><p>http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/posts/list.m?start=180&topic_id=358291</p>
